Iran’s president tells Fox’s Bret Baier it will dilute enriched uranium: ‘It’s not a big deal’

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian flatly denied Tehran wants a nuclear bomb during a Fox News interview with Bret Baier.
  • Pressed about Iran’s uranium enriched to 60%, Pezeshkian said Iran is willing to dilute it and submit its nuclear program to international verification.
  • Pezeshkian simultaneously blamed the United States and Israel for the nearly seven-month war and said Washington must decide whether it wants the conflict to end.

Iran’s president says there’s a simple answer to the question that has helped fuel a war: No, Iran doesn’t want a nuclear bomb.

And that uranium enriched to 60%?

Apparently that’s “not a big deal.”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sat down with Fox News’ Bret Baier Thursday and was asked directly whether Tehran wants a nuclear weapon.

“Not at all. Not at all,” Pezeshkian answered.

He cited religious decrees from Iran’s late supreme leader declaring weapons of mass destruction forbidden.

Baier then went straight to the obvious follow-up.

If Iran doesn’t want a bomb, why did it enrich uranium to 60% — vastly beyond the level normally required for civilian nuclear power — and keep highly enriched material buried underground?

Pezeshkian responded that Tehran is willing to reduce the enrichment level.

“We said we’re willing to dilute them. It’s not a big deal,” he said, adding that Iran is willing to submit to verification.

Iran’s willingness to dilute its uranium isn’t entirely new.

In February, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said Tehran could dilute its stockpile of 60%-enriched uranium in exchange for sanctions relief. Iran possessed more than 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium before last year’s conflict, although international inspectors have been unable to account fully for the material since attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Pezeshkian nevertheless portrayed Iran as ready to revive diplomacy.

He pointed to an agreement reached with President Donald Trump in June that was intended to establish a framework for ending hostilities and pursuing a broader U.S.-Iran deal.

“We did reach an agreement with your president,” Pezeshkian told Baier. “That agreement was signed, and based on that, we are willing and still wish to move forward.”

The interview came one day after Pezeshkian delivered a defiant address to the United Nations General Assembly.

He accused the United States and Israel of attacking Iran and told Trump that Tehran remains willing to negotiate — but would not negotiate under military pressure.

“We are ready for dialogue and diplomacy and negotiations without accepting the language of force,” Pezeshkian said at the U.N.

Trump had used his own U.N. appearance a day earlier to present Iran with a stark choice: reach an agreement or face the possibility of a massive escalation in the war.

Trump also disclosed that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner had met with Iranian officials for roughly three hours on the sidelines of the U.N. gathering.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio subsequently cautioned against describing those contacts as a breakthrough, saying they amounted largely to an exchange of messages and ideas.

Pezeshkian insisted Iran never wanted the war.

“We never sought war. We do not seek war,” he told Baier.

He blamed Israel for instigating the conflict and put responsibility for ending it squarely on Washington.

“It’s America that must choose whether it wants to end this or not.”

So Tehran’s message from New York is now unusually explicit:

It says it doesn’t want the bomb. It says it will dilute the uranium. It says inspectors can verify it.

And after nearly seven months of war, both sides are at least talking again.

Whether any of those words become an agreement is the considerably harder part.

  1. I’m against this war of regime change. This isn’t what we voted for. No new wars, was the promise!
I’m tired of the we can’t let them get a nuke, or we have to fight them over there instead of here!
First about the nuke…I remember the past 5,6 presidents stating Iran is years away , one year away, months away, weeks away, and less! Which one was correct? Probably none, because we are constantly lied to by our government.
This is Israel’s problem, because Iran would not nuke us because we would wipe them off the map! Although, they would use it on Israel probably! Now, I’m not for that happening, but why are we fighting this war, while Israel goes about fighting other battles? Israel has been slaughtering children in GAZA! This is real and cannot be denied.
I am 100% against Islam! They are a dangerous cult, bent on subjugation, and death. But, you cannot kill children for their parents deeds! If you believe Muslim children are legitimate targets, then you make your children legitimate targets back! Sorry, we are a civil society! We do not kill children!
We are a moral country, and killing children goes against all morals!
As to the overly used “fighting them there, instead of here,” it’s nothing but a lie to justify another war!
We have spent over ten trillion of tax payers hard earned money fighting them over there. What have we gotten for that? Nothing! We left Afghanistan after 20 years and the Taliban still controls it! We have pulled out of Iraq after about 12 years, and it’s still run by Muslims! When Saddam attacked Kuwait, we let him, then we acted like it was a surprise! BS!
Over ten trillion spent in wars in the Middle East, what do we have? They are here, as we waste our resources over there! They have infiltrated over local, state, and federal governments! There are thousands of mosques all over our country. Dearborn Michigan is now Islamic! They’re pushing a huge Islamic city in Texas! Their in our Congress, attorney general, mayors, governors, and even one governor of the site of 9/11!
By our leaders let them in without a thought of the consequences! Now we are seeing those consequences come to tuition! We are losing our country while we waste our great troops over there for nothing!
Islam is a Fn cancer that our Coward Republicans cannot come to say, for fear of being labeled a bigot, or Islamophobe!
Late as usual, now the Republicans are pushing for a law to stop sharia law from taking place in our country. This is decades too late, and to little! Who’s going to enforce this? They already do as they please! This is nothing but more BS from this Fn useless party!
    It’s already to
Late to stop Islam here, unless you deport everyone of them! That ain’t happening! We can do that, because this is a danger to our country and Constitution! But, being cowards, they will do nothing but have their committee hearings, get their camera time, and nothing will happen.
    We are screwed!
