Nicki Minaj unloads on Democrats over how they treat Black voters: ‘We’re not allowed to think’

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • Nicki Minaj says Democrats have long expected Black Americans to automatically vote blue.
  • The rap superstar says Black voters who make a different political choice can face “smear campaigns” and “nasty behavior.”
  • Minaj, whose embrace of President Trump has become increasingly public, says Democrats are “digging their own grave” with that approach.

Nicki Minaj isn’t tiptoeing around politics.

The rap superstar took direct aim at the Democratic Party during an interview with Lara Trump, arguing that Black Americans have been treated as though they’re not supposed to make their own political decisions.

“For a very long time, Black people specifically feel that they should just vote blue,” Minaj said.

But she believes that’s changing.

Minaj said people are beginning to “wake up,” look at what’s happening around them and make different choices.

Then she got considerably sharper.

“Black people are not allowed, according to the Democrats, for the most part, to make a different decision,” she said. “We’re not allowed to think.”

Minaj said Black Americans who question a candidate or explain why they don’t support someone can quickly discover what happens when they step outside the expected political lane.

“We’re not allowed to voice concerns, to make an argument as to why we don’t like a particular candidate,” she said.

“And they’re seeing in real time, if they do, what happens to them. Smear campaigns and just outright nasty behavior from these adults.”

Her conclusion wasn’t subtle. “The Democrats kind of have been just digging their own grave in that way.”

Minaj’s political transformation has become increasingly difficult to miss.

She has publicly embraced Trump, appeared with him at the Trump Accounts Summit earlier this year and told Lara Trump that she has made it her “mission” to support the president.

During the same interview, she also criticized Democrats for becoming “way too caught up in pop culture,” saying their relationships with celebrities have contributed to politicians acting “petty and childish.”

That’s an especially interesting accusation coming from one of the biggest celebrities in music.

But Minaj’s argument was that political parties shouldn’t assume an artist — or a voter — belongs to them simply because of identity or culture.

And she made clear that she’s no longer interested in playing the role Democrats might have expected from her.
