Don Lemon admits Trump has delivered ‘pretty much every promise’

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • Don Lemon says President Trump has delivered on “pretty much every promise” he made on policy.
  • Lemon specifically pointed to immigration, taxes and healthcare.
  • But he said Trump has not delivered on the promises many voters care most about: prices, gas, rebate checks and the broader economy.

Don Lemon just gave President Donald Trump credit for something you probably weren’t expecting to hear from him.

Appearing on W. Kamau Bell’s “Who’s With Me?” podcast, the former CNN anchor was asked how seriously people should take Trump’s occasional talk about another presidential run.

Lemon’s answer began with a surprisingly broad assessment of Trump’s record.

“Pretty much every promise that he has made, pretty much, like policy-wise, he has delivered,” he said.

Lemon specifically pointed to Trump’s promises on immigration, taxes and healthcare, saying Trump had followed through on those areas.

But he immediately added a major qualifier, contending,  “The only thing that he hasn’t been able to deliver on is pretty much the economy.”

Bell jumped in with examples including lower gas prices and avoiding foreign wars. Lemon added lower prices generally, along with promised DOGE checks and tariff rebate or refund checks.

“None of those things have come to fruition, and those are the things that people want,” he said.

The conversation began with Bell asking Lemon about Trump’s comments regarding a possible third term. Lemon said he takes those remarks seriously because, in his view, Trump has demonstrated that when he announces a policy goal, he frequently tries to carry it out.

The exchange is especially notable given Lemon’s longstanding criticism of Trump.

Just last week, Lemon said he was “not against Donald Trump” personally, but said he opposed what he described as Trump’s lies, policies and treatment of people.

This time, though, Lemon’s argument required him to acknowledge something his audience may not hear from him very often: Whatever he thinks of Trump’s policies, he believes the president has followed through on a large portion of what he said he would do.

MY QUICK TAKE

That may be the closest thing to a five-star Yelp review Trump is ever going to get from Don Lemon.

Right before Lemon asks to speak to the manager about the economy.
