Pete Davidson is erasing nearly 200 tattoos — but Hillary Clinton somehow survived the purge

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • Pete Davidson says he is getting most of his nearly 200 tattoos removed, calling many of them “f—in’ horrible.”
  • The comedian says the tattoos came from a difficult period in his life, while the removal also makes acting jobs easier.
  • But one piece of ink is apparently untouchable: the Hillary Clinton portrait on his leg. “She stays. That’s my dog.”

Pete Davidson is cleaning house.

Or, more accurately, skin.

The former “Saturday Night Live” star says he is having most of his nearly 200 tattoos lasered away as he moves further from a difficult period of his life.

There is, however, one survivor.

Hillary Clinton.

Of course.

Davidson told Variety that there were several reasons for undertaking the enormous tattoo-removal project.

First:

“They were f—in’ horrible.”

Fair enough.

Second, covering all that ink for acting jobs could mean arriving at the makeup trailer hours early.

And third, Davidson said the tattoos represented a version of himself he no longer recognizes.

“I got these when I was in an immense amount of pain and I was trying to show people my pain.”

Davidson has also spoken openly about past self-harm and said some of the tattoos were originally used to cover scars. He says he is now sober from hard drugs and has described becoming a father as another major change in his life.

So the SpongeBob tattoos? Potentially toast.

The random impulse tattoos? Laser fodder.

Almost 200 pieces of body art? Start warming up the machine.

But the portrait of Hillary Clinton wearing a power suit on Davidson’s right leg?

Hands off.

“She stays. That’s my dog.”

Davidson added:

“I love Hillary, man. She’s awesome and a good friend.”

The Clinton tattoo dates back to 2017, when Davidson announced that he had gotten an image of the former secretary of state as what he called a Christmas gift to his “hero.”

Clinton even responded publicly at the time, joking that it made things “significantly less awkward” that she had already had a Pete Davidson tattoo for years.

Davidson has remained an enthusiastic Clinton fan ever since.

And apparently some relationships are simply stronger than lasers.

MY QUICK TAKE

There is something wonderfully American about undergoing what amounts to a complete renovation of your epidermis and deciding that the one thing absolutely essential to the finished product is Hillary Clinton in a pantsuit.

Rush would have gotten ten minutes out of that sentence alone.
