THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do).
- Ilhan Omar has not been publicly sighted by Fox News reporters since federal agents searched her Washington home in an immigration fraud investigation.
- Her daughter Isra Hirsi was spotted returning to the residence and confronted reporters with a pointed question: “What’s your problem?”
- Capitol Police also visited the area, while Omar’s husband dismissed questions about rumors that the congresswoman had fled the country.
LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time).
Washington has spent more than a week debating the federal investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar’s immigration history. Now there’s another question making the rounds.
Where’s Ilhan?
Fox News Digital reports that the Minnesota Democrat has not been seen publicly by its journalists since Homeland Security Investigations agents searched her Washington, D.C., residence on October 12.
Her family, however, has been making appearances — and at least one member isn’t particularly interested in entertaining the reporters stationed outside.
Omar’s 23-year-old daughter, Isra Hirsi, arrived at the residence Saturday evening in a black sedan, carrying a bag as she headed inside.
When approached by Fox News Digital, Hirsi delivered a brief response.
“What’s your problem?”
Well, that’s one way to begin a conversation with the press.
Hirsi is hardly a stranger to political controversy herself. The activist made national headlines in 2024 after being arrested during anti-Israel demonstrations at Columbia University and suspended from Barnard College.
She also helped establish the U.S. Youth Climate Strike movement, which organized student protests demanding government action on climate change.
Now she’s back in the headlines for a considerably different reason: The federal investigation involving her mother.
Other family members have also been seen at the Washington residence in recent days. U.S. Capitol Police appeared nearby Sunday evening, although authorities have not publicly explained the purpose of that particular visit.
Omar’s husband, political consultant Tim Mynett, has emerged from the home on several occasions, often accompanied by the family’s dog.
And reporters have been waiting with questions.
Asked about the federal investigation, Mynett said he had “no concerns.”
But he was considerably less accommodating when questioned about unsubstantiated speculation that Omar had left the United States. “You guys are annoying the hell out of the neighbors around here, man,” he told Fox News Digital.
Apparently, the neighborhood’s patience with the national media has been running about as thin as Washington’s supply of bipartisan agreement.
But the larger story remains the investigation itself. Federal agents executed a court-authorized search warrant at Omar’s residence as part of an inquiry into whether inaccurate information was submitted in connection with her immigration and citizenship documentation. Investigators are examining allegations involving information provided when Omar and her family immigrated to the United States from Somalia. The search reportedly resulted in the seizure of electronic devices and documents, including Omar’s cellphone and passport.
Her sister, Sahra Noor, also voluntarily spoke with federal investigators last week, according to sources cited by Fox News.
The New York Times has reported that approximately a dozen people, including relatives, have received subpoenas connected with the investigation. That’s a considerable amount of investigative activity surrounding a member of Congress who has spent years at the center of fierce political arguments over immigration.
Federal officials have indicated that proven immigration fraud could have serious consequences, potentially including proceedings affecting citizenship status. But no criminal charges against Omar have been announced.
The congresswoman has vehemently denied wrongdoing and accused the Trump administration of using federal law enforcement to intimidate political opponents. Following the search, Omar issued a public statement calling it “an outrageous abuse of power” and “an unprecedented escalation in the weaponization of federal law enforcement to target political enemies.”
Vice President JD Vance rejected the suggestion that the investigation was politically motivated. “We really want to let the law, the facts drive this,” Vance told Fox News Digital. “And if justice requires something else be done, then, of course, we’ll take a step when we have to.”
Former President Barack Obama has also entered the controversy, condemning the investigation and arguing that federal authorities should not target elected officials for criticizing the president.
Meanwhile, Omar’s attorneys are challenging the government’s conduct during the search and demanding the return of property seized by federal agents.
And the question about her public whereabouts continues circulating.
