THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do).
- AOC defended transgender rights at a Maine town hall Thursday while criticizing Democrats who have retreated on the issue.
- Her explanation drew pushback from X users who argued that protecting female athletes and women’s privacy should come first.
- Riley Gaines mocked her wording, while other commenters compared the performance to Kamala Harris.
LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time).
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez offered a breezy explanation for supporting transgender women Thursday — and handed her critics enough material to keep the quotation marks working overtime.
“I support the rights of trans women because I’m a girl’s girl,” the New York Democrat said during a town hall in Portland, Maine.
Well, that settles it. Years of arguments over female athletic opportunities, locker-room privacy and sex-based protections, resolved with a phrase that sounds ready for a tote bag.
The clip circulated on X, where critics challenged the congresswoman’s definition of female solidarity. Their objection: Women concerned about competing against biological males or sharing intimate spaces deserve some of that solidarity, too.
One response came from Shear Khandr, who argued that the phrase means supporting other women rather than competing with them or seeking male approval. Another commenter, Boston Pete Rock, questioned how AOC’s position squared with protecting girls’ sports.
The congresswoman had arrived with a slogan. The replies wanted to see the eligibility rules.
Riley Gaines, the former collegiate swimmer and advocate for keeping women’s sports female, took aim at another line from the circulating remarks.
“I support the rights of trans women because I’m a girl’s girl. And I think that all of our bodily autonomy is tied together…” -Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Why does AOC hate women???

“‘The right to choose over our bodies is the right to choose over our bodies,’” Gaines wrote. “Profound, really.”
There it is: a sentence that reaches its destination by refusing to leave the driveway.
The comparison department promptly opened for business.
“She’s almost at Harris levels of word salad,” wrote Ben Peterson.
Other responses collected in the Twitchy roundup invoked Kamala Harris as well, with commenters treating AOC’s delivery as a familiar exercise in making a simple declaration sound like a major philosophical discovery.
The criticism also extended beyond her wording. Responding to a separate clip circulated by RNC Research concerning sports and locker rooms, Drew Grimaldi wrote: “AOC’s feminism protects everybody except actual women.”
That was the central dispute running through the responses: AOC presented transgender inclusion as solidarity, while her critics argued that female athletes and women seeking private spaces were being asked to absorb the consequences.
At the town hall, a transgender student had raised concerns about Democrats abandoning the community. Ocasio-Cortez criticized politicians who change positions after an election and argued that compromising transgender Americans’ rights threatens everyone’s rights. The exchange took place during her appearance alongside Maine Democrat Troy Jackson on Thursday.
