Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s attempt to appeal to ‘everyman’ in a Father’s Day post seemed to blow up in his face.
The responses were fiery on social media, but the burgers and hotdogs seemed cold as ice in Schumer’s grilling photo on Sunday. The post caused such a wave of negative responses that the New York Democrat soon deleted it altogether.
But, as they say, the internet is forever.
This is now the greatest picture in all of politics lmao. If anything ever virtue signaled the fake bullshit everywhere in our government, it’s Chuck Schumer putting cheese on a raw burger on an unlit grill right next to fully grilled hot dogs with him holding one on the spatula… pic.twitter.com/SJoTn9Dj7z

“Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years, but my daughter and her wife just bought a house with a backyard and for the first time we’re having a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill!” Brooklyn-born senator captioned the photo of himself, spatula in hand with burger patties and hot dogs on the nearby grill.
“Father’s Day Heaven!” he added.
Chuck Schumer just deleted this post where he got insanely ratioed for not knowing how to make a cheeseburger.

The mockery was instant.
Politicians posting grilling photos just never works out well

Many comments focused on the appearance of a cold grill and the cheese on a raw burger.
Because apparently after all this time the lizards still can’t pretend to be real people. pic.twitter.com/GnlshDLNx7

Chuck Schumer calls heating pre-fab, frozen hamburger patties & hot dogs over a gas flame “barbequing”.
And no way he got those grill marks on those dogs. This photo is staged.
This is what is wrong with America. pic.twitter.com/eQTRbcjqeX

One of my favorite things on social media is politicians posting horrific food photos. This vaults into the Top 3. It doesn’t beat the iconic MTG Thanksgiving Turkey photo, but it’s really close. A piece of cheese on a raw burger next to splitting hotdogs made me laugh out… https://t.co/tklbx473eN

Cheese on raw hamburger, You can tell Senator Schumer has never once manned a grill.
The more a politician attempts to connect with ordinary people the more he or she comes across as a elitist. https://t.co/YGnX6TzNuY

You don’t put the cheese on top of raw burgers, you fraud. You put the cheese on after the burgers are cooked. pic.twitter.com/WXMIymHVnG

And many X users blasted the Democrat for hypocrisy, recalling many other attempts to appeal to the ‘regular’ folk in America.
“Sir we need you to relate to normal people”
“What do normal people do?”
“I don’t know, put some cheese on that raw burger you literally just put down”
“Great idea, look how normal I look.”

Scary that a person at the top of our government has no clue how to bbq a cheeseburger but knows just how to rule your life. https://t.co/TH1SRLDoSw
