YIKES! Kamala’s MSNBC solo interview did not go as she planned

by

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle had a moment of transparency when she admitted that Vice President Kamala Harris dodged a question on taxes during a softball interview.

Ruhle admitted to college Nicolle Wallace that Harris “doesn’t answer the question” as she shared her thoughts on the sit-down interview with the Democrat nominee which was previewed in a clip on Wednesday.

Harris was questioned about a scenario where if she won the election and became president, how she would “get the money” to fund her economic proposals while facing a divided government as Republicans on Capitol Hill would certainly block her efforts to raise the corporate tax rate.

“Do you still go forward with those plans and borrow?” Ruhle asked the vice president who predictably dodged giving a direct answer.

“But we’re gonna have to raise corporate taxes,” Harris said. “We’re going to have to make sure that the biggest corporations and billionaires pay their fair share. That’s just it. It’s about paying their fair share.”

Ruhle reacted to the moment in a discussion with Wallace later on “Deadline: White House.”

“She doesn’t answer the question around if the GOP is controlling the Senate, if she can’t raise corporate taxes, where is she going to get the money from to expand the child tax credit and do whatever she wants to do,” Ruhle said.

“And she says, ‘we just have to do it,’” she continued. “That’s great and that’s a campaign promise, but the issue is, if it means we’re gonna just borrow again, then what we’re doing is we’re just never addressing the deficit. And back in the days when you were a proud Republican, debts and deficits matter.”

The interview in Pittsburgh was Harris’ first one-on-one sit-down since she became the Democratic presidential nominee. A previous CNN interview last month had her accompanied by her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Ruhle recently declared that “Kamala Harris isn’t running for perfect,” defending the vice president for not doing more interviews, essentially saying she does not owe any to the American voters.

“She’s running against Trump. We have two choices. And so there are some things you might not know her answer to. And in 2024, unlike 2016, for a lot of the American people, we know exactly what Trump will do, who he is and the kind of threat he is to democracy,” she said on “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

In her discussion with Wallace following her interview with Harris, Ruhle still defended the Democrat despite her non-answer on taxes.

“It’s like the American people have forgot or we no longer think debt and deficits matter. They will at some point as they balloon. She’s saying, ‘it doesn’t matter, we’re going full steam ahead,'” Ruhle said. “I mean, I don’t fault her for it because the American people aren’t prioritizing saying you have to focus on this. And as much as she is not focused on it, Donald Trump’s is not in a much bigger way. And that is the person that she’s running against.”

  1. Listening to kamala and her so called economic plan is like going to In and out burger, ordering a double double and then all you get is a piece of lettuce and tomato between the buns. All salad no meat.
