‘This is TOTAL GARBAGE. CBS NEWS?’ Bo Snerdley leads voices in SLAMMING debate moderators

Sen. JD Vance addressed a fact check by CBS moderators so effectively that his microphone was shut off in panic.

The network’s moderators have justly come under heavy fire for the move during Tuesday’s vice presidential debate between the Ohio Republican and his Democrat opponent, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. There was quick consensus following moderator Margaret Brennan’s “fact check” of Vance’s claim about migrants and the follow-up decision to mute his mic when he called her out.

CBS had announced that it wouldn’t allow live fact-checking during the debate but that didn’t stop Brennan from interjecting when Vance noted how Springfield, Ohio has been overwhelmed with thousands of Haitian migrants who were brought using the CBP One app, using the term “illegal immigrants” which evidently triggered the moderators.

“Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status, temporary protected status,” Brennan jumped in after Vance’s comments.

But the GOP vice presidential nominee called her out without missing a beat.

“The rules were that you guys weren’t going to fact-check,” Vance said. “And since you are fact-checking me, I think it’s important to say what’s actually going on.”

As he proceeded to spell out the actual facts, Brennan interrupted to tell him they had “so much to get to.” Vance continued to call out the false fact-check as Brennan and co-moderator Norah O’Donnell tried to move on.

“Thank you, Senator, for describing the legal process,” Brennan said. “We have so much to get to, Senator. We have so much –”

“Those laws have been on the books since 1990,” Walz jumped in as Vance continued.

“Thank you, gentlemen,” said Brennan as the mics were cut. “Gentlemen, the audience can’t hear you because your mics are cut. We have so much we want to get to.”

Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin, who has personally spent years reporting on the border crisis, noted how the moderators falsely fact-checked Vance.

The false fact-check and the cut mics triggered an avalanche of reactions in real-time. Even former CNN host Chris Cuomo called out the move and pointed out that Vance was right.

Social media was flooded with condemnation for CBS and praise for Vance.
