A “legal note” on “The View” sparked mockery on social media after Sunny Hostin was forced to address claims she made about former Rep. Matt Gaetz.
The leftist co-host of the ABC talk show held nothing back in her trashing of the Florida Republican who President-elect Donald Trump has tapped to serve as attorney general. Hostin had just raged about Trump’s nominees and brought up claims about Gaetz involving his alleged involvement with a 17-year-old girl.
But soon after her rant, Hostin had to eat crow and deliver a statement from Gaetz’s lawyers denying all allegations. Hostin’s pouty and immature attitude as she read the “legal note” went viral.

“Sunny, you have a legal note,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said.
“I do have a legal note. Thank you Whoopi,” Hostin replied with a tone.
“Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations, calling the claims ‘invented’ and saying in a statement to ABC News that ‘this false smear following a 3-year criminal investigation should be viewed with great skepticism. That DOJ investigation was closed with no charges being brought,'” Hostin read.
The reactions on X included mockery and amusement at Hostin’s petulant delivery and the “instant karma” she experienced on the air.

The fact that ABC Legal put the hammer down on Sunny so quickly tells me that 1) they know she went too far; and 2) they feel the need to monitor that show because those women are reckless with their cavalier allegations and assumptions.
