‘This is sickening!’ MSNBC host unloads on Trump for Mar-a-Lago bash featuring documentary

by

A Democratic strategist and MSNBC host ripped into President-elect Donald Trump for his “sickening” decision to screen a film at a private event in his Florida home.

Symone Sanders-Townsend criticized Trump, who will not take office until January 20th, for the Saturday night festivities at Mar-a-Lago where he featured a documentary about ally John Eastman. The former Trump lawyer was accused of being involved with efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The film, “The Eastman Dilemma: Lawfare of Justice,” examines “the growing reality that attorneys who represent conservative clients are being unfairly targeted and ‘canceled’ by a legal system as it grows increasingly politically biased,” according to a website description.

“This is sickening!” Sanders-Townsend exclaimed on MSNBC’s “The Weekend” Sunday.

“This is sickening. I am sick. Peter Navarro, Jeffrey Clark, the people that went to the Capitol to take up arms against the United States government because the former President of the United States at the time lied to them, because that’s what happened. Those people are not patriots,” she spewed in a panel discussion that continued the fear-mongering rhetoric about the former and future president.

“What Donald Trump did last night is a disgrace to this country! It is a disgrace to the Constitution!” added Sanders-Townsend, who served as national press secretary for Sen. Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign before becoming spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I do think it is not a small thing,” she said. “It wasn’t just some party. They’re letting you know where their values are, what they think, and frankly, that if the president-elect was not successful in this last election, that they would have done it again.”

Her comments followed those by fellow panelist Michael Steele who said,“The audaciousness of it, just the in-your-face M-Fer, you know?!” Steele said. “Yeah, we’re going to celebrate the overturning four years later of trying to overturn an election.”

Other attendees at the Mar-a-Lago event included  Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) and Scott Bessent.
