President Donald Trump provided a more detailed vision for his bold plans for the U.S. taking over the Gaza Strip.
After he shocked many with the announced plan during a press conference Tuesday alongside Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump took to Truth Social to spell out the details and threw in a jab at Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer for good measure.
“The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting,” the president wrote in a Thursday post. “The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region.”
“They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free,” Trump continued. “The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth.”
“No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!” he concluded.
During his press conference with Netanyahu, Trump announced the plan and how the U.S. would redevelop the war-torn area.
“The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too,” Trump said. “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous, unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”

With some raising concerns and criticizing the idea of pushing Palestinians out of the area, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president has “not committed to putting boots on the ground in Gaza. He has also said the United States is not going to pay for the rebuilding of Gaza.”
“The president has made it clear they need to be temporarily relocated out of Gaza for the rebuilding of this effort,” she said at a press briefing on Wednesday. “Again, it’s a demolition site right now. It’s not a livable place for any human being.”
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas blasted the proposed plan as a “serious violation of international law.”
Palestinian leaders would “not allow any infringement on the rights of our people,” he added, rejecting Trump’s plans.
“President Trump is taking it to a much higher level,” Netanyahu said this week.
“He sees a different future for that piece of land that has been the focus of so much terrorism, so many attacks against us, so many trials and so many tribulations. He has a different idea, and I think it’s worth paying attention to this. We’re talking about it. He’s exploring it with his people, with his staff. I think it’s something that could change history and it’s worthwhile really pursuing this avenue,” he added.
