Four FEMA staff members are out of a job after being linked to “egregious” payments of funds to house illegal migrants in New York City.
Soon after Elon Musk revealed the agency had paid millions to house the migrants in “luxury hotels,” the Department of Homeland Security informed Fox News that “four employees are being fired today for circumventing leadership and unilaterally making the egregious payment for hotels for migrants in New York City.”
FEMA came under fire last year after reports that it lacked the funds to fully help Hurricane Helene victims while illegal migrants were still being helped.
“FEMA partners with Customs and Border Control (CBP) and administers money to the Shelter and Services Program (SSP), a government-funded program that provides assistance and housing for illegal immigrants released into the U.S.,” Fox News noted.
On Monday, Musk posted on X that “The DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants.”
“Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order,” added the head of President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency. “That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals!”

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO added that a “clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds.”
A spokesperson for New York City Hall confirmed to Fox News that “through the past week,” funds that had been allocated by the Biden administration to help illegal migrants had been received by the city.
“Of the $59.3 million, $19 million was for direct hotel costs, while the balance funded other services such as food and security. According to NY City Hall, the funds were not part of a disaster relief grant,” the outer reported.
“These funds have been misappropriated going back to the Biden administration and New York City – a sanctuary city – has been wasting billions of dollars of taxpayer money to provide free housing, clothing, food, education and healthcare to illegal immigrants, including criminal aliens that are here illegally,” Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday,
“And so I applaud DHS for taking action to stop these payments under President Trump’s leadership because we have incentivized cities like New York and states like New York – a sanctuary state – to allow this to continue and it has to stop,” added Lawler who said the firings were “long overdue.”
Just being fired is not enough. They all should be in jail.
This outrage and others like it or even worse make me want to scream and pull my. hair! Nobody in their right mind can even *suggest* that this is anything but waste, fraud, and abuse. It is also corruption. Nobody can possibly believe that such egregious amounts of money are going solely to the stated recipients. It is also lining the pockets of bureaucrats. Thank God for Donald Trump, DOGE, Elon Musk, and all those who are suppporting this operation to clean up our country’s corruption and wasteful spending.
