DeSantis to Congress: Where the hell are you? Why were no ‘jurisdiction-stripping bills tee’d up?’

Governor Ron DeSantis put members of Congress on the spot as he called out “resistance” judges blocking President Donald Trump’s agenda.

The Florida Republican weighed in on Trump’s legal battles as he works to fulfill promises made to the American people who voted him into office. DeSantis responded to a discussion on social media Wednesday as he suggested Congress could strip jurisdiction from federal courts trying to stymie the administration.

Rep. Chip Roy posted that “we can defund radical courts” on X and prompted the response from DeSantis.

“Lots of noise about impeachment. We must study every ruling & act accordingly w/ everything on the table (noting: 14 Dem votes required in Senate). But, more fertile ground… 1) House can pass a resolution stating there is/was an invasion, 2) we can defund radical courts,” the Texas congressman had posted..

“Congress has the authority to strip jurisdiction of the federal courts to decide these cases in the first place. The sabotaging of President Trump’s agenda by ‘resistance’ judges was predictable — why no jurisdiction-stripping bills tee’d up at the onset of this Congress?” the governor and former GOP presidential candidate wrote.

One X user wondered how such a bill could pass being as 60 votes are needed to get it through the Senate.

“Attach it to a ‘must pass’ bill…” DeSantis replied.

Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, introduced articles of impeachment against Judge James E. Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Presidnt Trump blasted the federal judge in a Truth Social post on Tuesday,

“This Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge, a troublemaker and agitator who was sadly appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, was not elected President,” Trump said. “This judge, like many of the Crooked Judges’ I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!! WE DON’T WANT VICIOUS, VIOLENT, AND DEMENTED CRIMINALS, MANY OF THEM DERANGED MURDERERS, IN OUR COUNTRY.”

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts pushed back on the strong remarks saying in a statement: “For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose.”

Social media users reacted to the suggestion by Gov. DeSantis and the “out of control” judges.
