President Donald Trump ordered the National Guard to deploy as riots continued in Los Angeles following a raid by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), border czar Tom Homan told Fox News Saturday.
The riots began after ICE raided a Home Depot in Los Angeles County, Fox News reported. Homan defended ICE during an interview on “The Big Weekend Show.”
“American people, this is about enforcing the law, and again, we’re not going to apologize for doing it,” Homan said.
A message to the LA rioters: you will not stop us or slow us down. @ICEgov will continue to enforce the law.
And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The Department of Homeland Security condemned the riots in a statement posted on its website.
“The violent targeting of law enforcement in Los Angeles by lawless rioters is despicable and Mayor Bass and Governor Newsom must call for it to end. The men and women of ICE put their lives on the line to protect and defend the lives of American citizens,” said Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin.
“Make no mistake, Democrat politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor Wu of Boston, Tim Walz, and Mayor Bass of Los Angeles are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE,” McLaughlin continued. “From comparisons to the modern-day Nazi gestapo to glorifying rioters, the violent rhetoric of these sanctuary politicians is beyond the pale. This violence against ICE must end.”
