Bret Baier’s no ‘hair and makeup’ video shocks viewers

by

Fox News viewers got an “unprecedented” look behind the scenes this week when longtime anchor Bret Baier shared a “rare” video of himself before his usual on-air makeup and styling. And, oh the uproar!

Posted to his TikTok account on Monday, the short clip showed Baier in his natural state—no professional lighting, no powder, no polish. Despite the video being clearly labeled with Baier’s name, many users across social media acted skeptical about who they were actually seeing.

Reactions ranged from surprise to outright disbelief and the critics were brutal, as usual. “Seriously? Do they put contacts on him too?” one user on X asked. “And why accentuate the Dracula hairline? MSM goes to such great lengths to put their people in costumes and makeup, so they look nothing like their real selves… yet we are just supposed to trust that everything ELSE they represent to the American people is somehow honest and ‘authentic’???”

Well, that seems a bit dramatic, but who are we to judge?

The post opened a floodgate of similar responses.  Cue the conspiracy tweets: One commenter noted, “I don’t think it’s the same man. Close, but one is thinner and the ears are different.” Others marveled at the apparent transformation: “How?! How do they make his face bigger?! Like wider?” Another said, “Very odd. His face is not even shaped the same. Weird.”

“Those are two different faces. Different noses and chins, etc.,” a user declared. One even compared the transformation to a fictional character swap: “Looks like they turn David Partridge into Eddie Munster.”

Amid the buzz, other, more sensible heads pointed out the obvious: this is the magic of television makeup. One pragmatic voice chimed in, “Do you not know how TV makeup works??” Still, the stark difference between Baier’s real-life look and his polished on-camera persona appears to have stirred up discussions.

Baier’s unfiltered TikTok moment may have simply been intended as a fun behind-the-scenes glimpse, but it has clearly struck a nerve with some.

Lighten up, people, clearly you haven’t seen his famous rap performance video yet?
