Trump calls for Roger Clemens’ Hall of Fame induction: ‘Put him in NOW!’

by

In an impassioned defense of baseball legend Roger Clemens, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to demand the former pitcher’s long-overdue induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Trump, a long-time sports enthusiast and outspoken critic of the political correctness infecting American institutions, made it clear that Clemens deserves his rightful place among the sport’s elite — and that decades of speculation shouldn’t erase a record of undeniable greatness.

Following a round of golf with the 11-time All-Star, Trump used the moment to not only praise Clemens personally but also highlight the injustice he believes the former MLB ace has suffered.

“He should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame, NOW!” Trump declared. “People think he took drugs, but nothing was proven. He never tested positive, and Roger, from the very beginning, totally denies it. He was just as great before those erroneous charges were leveled at him. That rumor has gone on for years, and there has been no evidence whatsoever that he was a ‘druggie.’”

Clemens, who boasts an astonishing 354 career wins, seven Cy Young Awards, and nearly 4,700 strikeouts, stands as one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball history. Yet, despite these historic achievements, Hall of Fame voters have repeatedly passed over him, citing suspicions of performance-enhancing drug (PED) use — suspicions never backed by a positive test or a criminal conviction.

In fact, Clemens has consistently denied the allegations. Under oath before Congress, he refuted claims that he used PEDs. Although he was later charged with perjury, obstruction of Congress, and making false statements, he was fully acquitted in 2012. The government’s case leaned heavily on testimony from Clemens’s former trainer, Brian McNamee, who alleged that he had injected Clemens with steroids from 1998 to 2001 — claims that were never corroborated by any physical evidence or testing results.

Trump’s defense of Clemens aligns with his broader critiques of institutional hypocrisy and the “guilty-until-proven-innocent” culture. Drawing a comparison to the controversial case of Pete Rose, another baseball great who was barred from the Hall for decades, Trump criticized the baseball establishment for bending to public pressure only after Rose’s death in 2024.

“After over 4,000 Hits, they wouldn’t put him in the Hall of Fame until I spoke to the Commissioner, and he promised to do so,” Trump wrote. “But it was essentially a promise not kept because he only ‘opened it up’ when Pete died and, even then, he said that Pete Rose only got into the mix because of DEATH.”

Trump made it clear that he refuses to let the same fate befall Roger Clemens. “We are not going to let that happen in the case of Roger Clemens. 354 Wins — Put him in NOW. He and his great family should not be forced to endure this ‘stupidity’ any longer!”
