President Donald Trump unleashed a scathing rebuke of Kamala Harris on Wednesday, blasting the failed Democrat candidate for falsely characterizing the 2024 presidential race as the “closest election in the 21st century.” In a fiery post on Truth Social, Trump didn’t mince words — calling Harris “DUMB AS A ROCK” and demanding an apology for what he labeled a deliberate lie.
“Kamala Harris, who is DUMB AS A ROCK, is going around and using, as a standard part of her Speech on why she lost the Election, that 2024 was the ‘closest Presidential Election in the 21st Century.’ Everyone knows this is a lie and was covered as such by Fox News!” Trump posted.
According to Trump, the 2024 results were anything but close. He reminded supporters — and critics — that he defeated Harris decisively in the Electoral College by a margin of 312 to 226, a gap surpassed only by Barack Obama’s victories in 2008 and 2012.
“I won the Electoral College, 312-226, a LANDSLIDE,” Trump wrote. “Counties Nationwide, 2,600 to 525, a LANDSLIDE, all seven Swing States, a LANDSLIDE.”
Even in Democrat-dominated California, where widespread mail-in voting drew scrutiny from conservative watchdogs, Trump said he prevailed despite what he calls a “RIGGED” system.
“Despite the fact that California’s Fake Mail-In Ballots came in at ridiculous numbers (It was RIGGED!), I still won the Popular Vote by MILLIONS!” he added.
Harris, who made the disputed claim during a recent appearance on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow, received no pushback from the liberal host — a silence many conservatives saw as complicit.
“Kamala’s ‘closest in the 21st Century’ soundbite was, like everything else in the Democrat Party, A TOTAL LIE!” Trump continued. “I expect an apology. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Harris’s claim is quickly falling apart under scrutiny. A simple look at the electoral math shows that her loss to Trump was more lopsided than several previous elections.
Electoral Margin: Trump beat Harris 312–226 — a 86-vote margin, significantly larger than Bush vs. Gore (537-vote difference in Florida, 2000), and Trump’s own 2016 victory over Clinton (304–227).
Electoral College “Tipping Point”: As journalist Isaac Schorr pointed out, Harris didn’t come close to flipping the electoral map. Candidates like Al Gore (2000), John Kerry (2004), Hillary Clinton (2016), and even Trump (2020) had more plausible paths to victory.
Harris’s assertion isn’t just inaccurate — it’s historically illiterate.
The Biden-Harris administration and its media allies have long relied on emotional appeals and soundbites to mask poor performance and electoral defeats. But this latest talking point — calling a near-landslide loss the “closest” election of the century — may be a new low.
And unlike MSNBC, Trump isn’t letting it slide.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump closed, his signature phrase dripping with sarcasm — and certainty.
