Conservative pro‑life influencer sucker-punched for civil debate, Bragg DROPS charges

New York, N.Y. – Savannah Craven Antao, a young conservative and pro‑life influencer, says she no longer doubts that the brutal assault she recently endured won’t be the last. In an exclusive with Fox News Digital, she described a “violent” confrontation in which her “whole face [was] cut open” after simply conducting a street interview.

“A lot of the time I’m met with violence and that led to me being brutally assaulted on the street back in April,” Craven Antao told Fox News Digital. “A difference of opinion is something that they’re willing to not only call you names over, assault you over, but then now we see, kill you over.”

The attack occurred in Harlem, where Craven Antao had been filming man‑on‑the‑street interviews as part of her YouTube channel and conservative advocacy work. She says the assailant—a woman she had engaged in debate over abortion and foster care—unexpectedly struck her in the face, leaving her needing stitches and racking up more than $3,000 in medical bills.

Though local prosecutors initially arrested the alleged assailant, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office quietly dropped all charges, citing missed deadlines and procedural missteps. According to her attorneys, Craven Antao wasn’t even notified directly of the dismissal; she discovered it only when the attacker celebrated on social media.

“If somebody is willing to punch me in the face by just asking a question, why would the limit stop there? Why not kill somebody? Why not just completely try to silence them?” she asked.

Craven Antao invoked 2 Timothy 3:12, saying “In fact, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,” framing the violence as part of a broader pattern from “the left” that should no longer surprise conservative speakers.

She credits much of her public push to the late Charlie Kirk, declaring that she owes “almost everything” she has to his influence—and that she views continuing his legacy through bold conversations as a calling. Kirk, who was shot and killed on September 10 at Utah Valley University, is being mourned by conservatives as a martyr for free speech and youth engagement.

During a recent street interview series in Brooklyn, Craven Antao reported that the majority of her interlocutors confessed they “felt unsafe to use their freedom of speech.” She vowed to press on anyway.

“The left will continue to be violent … We should expect anything at this point because they’ve gone as far as they possibly could already,” she said. “I know that it’s needed. I know it’s something that Charlie would want … My goal is just to continue [his] legacy and continue to try to save our country.”

Legal advocates associated with the Thomas More Society have announced plans to file a civil lawsuit against the assailant, Brianna J. Rivers, to force accountability in the absence of criminal prosecution. Critics argue the case’s dismissal reflects the double standard often accused of prosecutorial offices in liberal jurisdictions—permitting violence against conservative voices to go unchecked.

Craven Antao, now cautious but resolved, says she’s taking precautions—yet refuses to let fear silence her message.

“It is our duty to speak for what’s right,” she told supporters. “Just because they’ve hit me once doesn’t mean I’m going to stop.”

  1. Isn’t there a federal charge?

  2. Bragg will one day receive his reward from the Righteous King of Kings.
