Don Lemon blames ‘white men’ for surge in violent crime, calling them ‘lazy’ and ‘dumb’ in racist tirade

by

In a startling tirade on his podcast, former CNN anchor Don Lemon accused white men of being the underlying cause of mass violence in America, declaring: “White men, are you okay? … Because that is the real issue here.”

Lemon did not hold back, asking whether something is “broken” or “cracked, deep inside you,” and adding:

“This country keeps waking up to bodies in the pews, blood on the floor, gunfire in public places and the faces behind the trigger looks the same nearly every single time.”

He acknowledged that his remarks would provoke anger but insisted:

“This is just the truth. I don’t care if you get mad about it.”

Lemon’s comments came amid discussion of escalating mass shootings and recent troop deployments to Democrat-led cities. He also referenced weekend shootings in North Carolina and Michigan, using those incidents as evidence that “white men” are disproportionately behind violent acts.

His broader thesis: white men supposedly dominate as perpetrators in mass violence, and that this demographic is uniquely inclined toward the use of force.

The internet exploded in response. Critics immediately labeled Lemon’s remarks racist, pointing to his marriage to Tim Malone, a white man, as evidence of hypocrisy.

One prominent conservative account, Libs of TikTok, wrote on X:

“Don Lemon says that White men are ‘broken’ and that they believe ‘violence is the answer.’ Don Lemon is a racist.”

Others zeroed in on his personal life: how he and Malone—the latter being 40 years old—wed last year in a lavish Manhattan ceremony. Many commenters asked why Lemon would publicly demonize a group that includes his own spouse.

Lemon is no stranger to controversy. During his 17‑year stint at CNN, he faced repeated criticism for on‑air comments and alleged behavior behind the scenes.

In February 2023, he drew ire for stating GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley was no longer in her “prime” — remarks widely condemned as sexist.

Following those and other reported tensions with female colleagues, Lemon was abruptly fired in April 2023. He later claimed he learned of his termination via his agent, calling the process “stunning.”

CNN, however, countered that Lemon was given the opportunity to meet with management before issuing public statements.

Since his departure, Lemon has reinvented himself as a whiny independent commentator, hosting “The Don Lemon Show” podcast.

He even accepted an offer from Elon Musk to launch a show on X — only to have it canceled after a single contentious sit-down session.
