Mamdani’s wife mourns for dead Palestinian influencer who cheered Oct 7 attacks

by

Saleh al-Jafarawi, the Palestinian influencer better known as “Mr. FAFO” (Google it, it fits), won’t be posting anymore propaganda. The 27-year-old social media star, famous for glorifying Hamas and gleefully celebrating the October 7, 2023 massacre of Israeli civilians, was killed Monday during violent infighting between Hamas and other Palestinian factions. Apparently, even terrorists have workplace drama.

Jafarawi had built a massive online following — over 250,000 on X — by blending influencer theatrics with extremist cheerleading. Israelis dubbed him “Mr. FAFO” after he posted grinning, celebratory videos during and after the October 7 attacks, in which over 1,200 Israelis were murdered and hundreds taken hostage. His smug, giddy reaction to one of the bloodiest days in Israeli history earned him infamy in the region — and a special kind of contempt from those who value, you know, basic human decency.

Then came the plot twist: when Israel responded with military force, Mr. FAFO suddenly turned into Mr. Sob Story, filming himself weeping on camera as airstrikes rained down on Gaza. Apparently, war was only fun when it was one-sided.

His final act? Dying in a shootout between Hamas and rival Palestinian groups. Fitting, really — considering he helped stoke the flames of a conflict that ultimately consumed him. A video of his lifeless body, ironically still wearing a press vest, was later posted to his own X account. That post brought cheers from many Israelis who had long viewed him as a digital foot soldier for Hamas, pushing propaganda and glorifying terrorism.

Not everyone mourned in silence, though. Among those grieving Jafarawi was Rama Duwaji — wife of New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani. She reposted an Instagram tribute calling him “beloved,” punctuated by four broken-heart emojis. Because nothing says “grief” like emojis for a man who celebrated burning babies.

Israeli government spokesperson and media figure Eylon Levy offered a sharp but oddly reflective take. “For the last two years, I have followed Hamas content creator Saleh Al-Jafrawi (‘Mr FAFO’) with a mix of horror and admiration,” he said, per the Times of Israel. “Mr FAFO had phenomenal energy, charisma, and creativity… constantly finding inventive ways to grab new audiences and tell his story.”

And then came the kicker: “We could have been mates, in another life, in which he did not dedicate his talents for evil, using his voice to fight for the genocidal terrorist army that perpetrated the October 7 Massacre.”

That’s the tragedy — or perhaps the poetic justice. A talented young man who could have been anything chose to become a gleeful mascot for terror. And in the end, he got exactly what he celebrated: violent death, courtesy of the very chaos he helped feed.
