Don Lemon calls out ballroom bling, Mar-a-Lago says ‘Hold my crystal chandelier’

by

Construction has begun on a brand-new grand ballroom at the White House. Yes, it’s being fully funded by private donors, not taxpayers, thanks to the organizing power of President Donald J. Trump. And yes, the media meltdown is already in high gear — proving once again that Trump Derangement Syndrome is immune to facts, common sense, or even history.

Let’s get something straight: this isn’t some vanity project carved out of sacred marble by a power-drunk president. The East Wing, the area affected by the construction, was only added in 1942 — and Trump’s project is taking down one wall to make room for the ballroom. A ballroom, mind you, that will serve future presidents, dignitaries, and state functions for decades, long after Trump himself is gone from the scene.

But don’t tell that to ex-CNN professional pouter, Don Lemon:

“Breaking news, part of the White House has been demolished, and apparently no lie is too big, and nothing is sacred with the Trump administration, because you know he wants to build that big, stupid ballroom… Parts of the East Wing have now been demolished in order to make way for that big, stupid ballroom… Can you imagine what this thing’s going to look like? All gold, everything, like a fricking bad Trump Tower condominium… fake gold spit up from Home Depot. Money does not buy you class.”

Well, Don, here’s a history refresher you and your fellow whiners might have missed:

  • Teddy Roosevelt built the West Wing.
  • Taft made the Oval Office oval.
  • FDR added the entire East Wing and included a pool for himself.
  • Truman gutted and rebuilt the entire White House in 1952.
  • Nixon added a bowling alley.
  • Obama put in a basketball court.
  • And Trump? He’s adding a ballroom — something elegant, functional, and historically appropriate.

But instead of seeing it as a gift to America, the left frames it as some tacky ego trip. Why? Because Trump is doing it.

This is par for the course. Everything Trump touches is immediately labeled corrupt, classless, or dangerous by the mainstream media — even when it’s well within presidential precedent or, in this case, entirely privately funded. The hypocrisy would be laughable if it weren’t so relentless.

Having had the pleasure of visiting Mar-a-Lago multiple times, I can say firsthand that if the new White House ballroom is even half as breathtaking as Trump’s Florida estate, then America is in for a treat. Mar-a-Lago, originally built by heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post in the 1920s, is like stepping into a European palace — intricate gold leaf, soaring ceilings, and hand-painted frescoes. It’s not just luxurious — it’s timeless. Trump hasn’t just preserved it; he’s elevated it.

So if he’s applying the same attention to detail at the White House — and he is — critics like Lemon are whining not because it will be ugly, but because they know it won’t be.

And let’s be honest: Trump has built ballrooms all over the world. He’s not slapping this one onto the White House for his own use. He won’t even be there to enjoy it in the years to come. It’s a parting gift — and a generous one at that — for the presidency and the American people.

The left can’t stand that. So they try to poison the well. They’ll call it “gold spit-up from Home Depot,” mock the taste, the style, the man — because they have nothing else. But all their rage won’t change the fact that Trump is once again building something real while they tear down with words.

Ballroom or not, Trump will continue doing what he’s always done: turning media hysteria into concrete achievements — quite literally.
