Mark Levin unleashed a fiery rebuke against former Fox News host Tucker Carlson after Carlson invited him to a public debate at an upcoming Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event. The clash — revealed during Friday’s broadcast of The Mark Levin Show — marks the latest and most personal escalation in a growing divide between two of the most prominent voices on the right.
According to Levin, Carlson texted him earlier in the day, proposing a face-to-face debate at the TPUSA conference scheduled for December. Carlson reportedly told him that Turning Point leadership had asked for the matchup and that it would be an opportunity to air their ideological differences.
Levin didn’t hesitate to reject the offer. “I’d rather debate a skunk,” he quipped on air, before reading his response to Carlson verbatim. “My family and I want nothing to do with you or what you’ve become — your vile libels against my faith, millions of Christians, and, in my view, what you seek to do to our country. There’s nothing to debate. You’re a Nazi promoter. You’re the modern-day David Duke.”
Levin said he was stunned that Turning Point USA, a group founded by Charlie Kirk to defend constitutional values and energize young conservatives, would consider giving Carlson a platform. “What would Charlie say? What would Rush say?” Levin asked rhetorically, invoking both Kirk and the late radio legend Rush Limbaugh.
The host also criticized Carlson for repeatedly hosting extremist figures such as Nick Fuentes — a white nationalist whose rhetoric has been widely condemned by mainstream conservatives. Levin argued that platforming such figures undermines the credibility of the entire movement. “It’s not about free speech,” Levin said. “Carlson has had the world’s biggest microphone. This is about judgment, values, and who we choose to elevate on the right.”
According to Levin, Carlson fired back almost immediately. “For the record, I’m strongly anti-Nazi,” Carlson allegedly wrote. “But that’s hardly the point. This seems like the perfect opportunity to rebut what you consider evil ideas and to do it to my face like a man. I think you’d jump at the chance, assuming you believe your positions are defensible. I’m offering the marketplace of ideas you often talk about — is it possible you can’t really defend, for example, what Israel has done to civilians in Gaza?”
Levin’s reply was short and sharp. He told Carlson that he was “despised,” not feared. Carlson ended the exchange by writing, “Well, you’re a coward. If you change your mind, I’m here. Thanks.”
The spat didn’t end there. On his program, Levin went on to call Carlson a “little bastard,” accusing him of having previously attacked his stepson, David Milstein, who serves as a senior adviser to former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel.
Levin’s frustration with Carlson isn’t new. The two have sparred repeatedly over foreign policy — especially regarding Israel and America’s stance toward Hamas and Iran. Levin has long accused Carlson of betraying conservative principles and pandering to isolationists and anti-Israel radicals to stir controversy and boost his digital audience.
By the end of his monologue, Levin made clear that he considers Carlson’s recent trajectory — from hosting fringe voices to minimizing antisemitism — an “unspeakable betrayal” of conservative values and of figures like Charlie Kirk, who, Levin said, “would be sickened by it.”
Levin is warning fellow conservatives that defending faith, liberty, and America’s moral clarity means drawing a line against those who flirt with extremism or abandon foundational truths for clicks and outrage.
