President Donald Trump escalated his criticism of Democrats on Friday morning, posting a forceful message on Truth Social in which he argued that every new development in the Jeffrey Epstein saga “points straight at the Democrats.” Trump said he intends to urge Attorney General Pam Bondi—along with the DOJ and FBI—to examine what he described as long-ignored ties between Epstein and prominent Democratic figures.
According to Trump, Democrats have revived what he called the “Epstein Hoax” as a political distraction. “Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax… to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures,” he wrote, he would be requesting federal investigators to probe Epstein’s connections to Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and “many other people and institutions.” Trump added, “This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam… Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his ‘Island.’ Stay tuned!!!”
His comments came just one day after the House Oversight Committee released a new set of Epstein-related documents that contained several references to Trump—something the president swiftly dismissed. On Thursday, Trump accused Democrats of digging up Epstein material solely to “deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects.”
He warned Republicans not to fall for the narrative, saying, “Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.” Trump blasted Democrats for the economic fallout from the shutdown fight, arguing, “The Democrats cost our Country $1.5 Trillion Dollars… and they should pay a fair price.” He insisted the GOP’s focus must remain on reopening the country and repairing “the massive damage caused by the Democrats.”
