Democrats seem to be suffering from yet another bout of selective amnesia. The very same party that spent years weaponizing federal power against President Donald Trump now insists it never happened. Their collective memory lapse is so convenient it would almost be comical—if it weren’t so insulting to the American people who watched the whole spectacle in real time.
This week, Rep. Adam Schiff delivered what may be one of his most brazen denials yet, claiming with a straight face that the Biden Justice Department could not possibly have been politicized because Attorney General Merrick Garland supposedly lacked partisanship. Yes, that Merrick Garland. The man who oversaw an unprecedented barrage of investigations, indictments, and legal warfare aimed squarely at Biden’s chief political opponent.
But don’t take anyone else’s word for it—listen to Schiff’s own. (WATCH)

“I listen in the Judiciary Committee to a lot of my colleagues across the aisle rail with just the most righteous indignation about the horrible weaponization of the Justice Department under that well-known partisan Merrick Garland. And it is so fanciful as to be absurd, but they speak it with what appears to be total conviction. And I don’t know, maybe they’re better actors than they used to be, or maybe they’ve so internalized the talking points that they persuaded themselves.”
Schiff’s performance would be amusing if it weren’t such transparent gaslighting. And of course, ABC’s Terry Moran—no stranger to the “Fake News” label—sat by grinning and nodding as though Schiff had just delivered a sermon on truth. The media–Democrat echo chamber never misses a beat.
Americans actually do remember what happened between 2021 and 2024. They remember the raids, the indictments, the leaks, the coordinated media onslaught, and the DOJ behaving like an opposition research arm for the Democratic Party. They lived it.
Conservatives online certainly haven’t forgotten. As commentator Kevin M. Nelson reminded Schiff’s defenders:
“I was very much alive, 2021-2024, and awake, and if Garland was any more partisan he would have made a great lefty judge for some rogue federal court.
What Trump is doing now isn’t called weaponization; it’s called precedent with justification to prosecute.”
Video producer Western Lensman added what many Democrats won’t say publicly but clearly believe:
“Schiff isn’t saying here what a lot of them are — they’re pissed at Garland because he didn’t move fast enough to get Trump in prison before the election.”
Another user, Joe Bud, summed up the Democrats’ strategy in blunt terms:
“Democrats believe everyone is ignorant and can’t remember anything before today’s breakfast. They rewrite history to suit whatever narrative they want to broadcast.”
Despite years of political persecution—disguised as “justice” by the Biden-Garland apparatus—Trump outlasted them all and ultimately returned to the Oval Office. That’s precisely why Democrats are now desperate to retell the story. They need the public to forget the truth so their revisionism can stand.
But Americans remember. And they aren’t buying it.
