Pelosi doubles down, ‘I could have said worse things about Trump’ after calling him ‘worst thing on Earth’

In a moment that even made CNN’s Anderson Cooper pause, Rep. Nancy Pelosi once again unloaded on President Donald Trump—boasting that she held back.

During a sit-down on Anderson Cooper 360, the outgoing California Democrat was confronted about her recent remarks slamming Trump as “a vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the Earth.” Cooper asked whether she believed Trump had changed since his first term.

Pelosi brushed it off with a smirk: “By the way, I said that as a euphemism.”

Cooper went silent—prompting Pelosi to twist the knife. “I could have done much worse,” she bragged before bursting into laughter. When Cooper pressed her—“Are there other adjectives you’d rather use?”—Pelosi abruptly pivoted, claiming she wanted to talk about House Democrats and their election hopes instead.

The outburst echoes comments she made earlier this month in another CNN interview, where she again labeled Trump “a vile creature” and insisted, “He’s the worst thing on the face of the Earth.”

Pressed by host Elex Michaelson on whether she truly believed that, Pelosi doubled down: “I do, yeah, I do.” She rattled off a series of accusations—claiming Trump “does not honor the Constitution,” has “turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court,” and even “abolished the House of Representatives.”

Critics note that these claims bear little connection to reality, but Pelosi—who plans to retire after the 2026 midterms—appears determined to keep the attacks coming as she winds down her final term in Congress.

The spectacle is nothing new: another high-profile Democrat using apocalyptic rhetoric while dodging accountability for her own party’s record. But her laughter while hurling the insults—on friendly CNN turf—may say more than the insults themselves.
