President Donald Trump has revealed that the U.S. launched a strike on a “big facility” in Venezuela last week, breaking the news during a radio hit without a formal announcement.
Trump made the surprising remarks in an impromptu interview with John Catsimatidis on WABC radio in New York on Friday. During the discussion, Trump stated that the United States conducted strikes in the country on Christmas Eve. The action, which would be the first known land strike on the socialist nation, has yet to be officially confirmed, while the Venezuelan government has not publicly acknowledged the strikes as of time of writing.
“We just knocked out — I don’t know if you read or you saw — they have a big plant or big facility where they send the, you know, where the ships come from,” Trump said during his appearance Friday. “Two nights ago we knocked that out. So we hit them very hard.”
The Pentagon deferred to the White House, which did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
