Squad lawmaker’s felon husband attacks reporter

by

Chaos erupted inside a Massachusetts city hall this week when the felon husband of “Squad” Rep. Ayanna Pressley physically interfered with a reporter trying to ask the congresswoman a question—an incident that perfectly encapsulated the left’s growing hostility toward scrutiny.

The confrontation unfolded Monday inside Chelsea City Hall as Pressley, a Massachusetts Democrat and vocal progressive firebrand, was being pressed on a national scandal involving alleged childcare fraud tied to the Somali community in Minnesota.

As a reporter approached with a phone camera rolling, he began to ask, “Congresswoman Pressley, do you support –” before the situation abruptly turned physical.

That’s when Conan Harris, Pressley’s husband—who previously served 10 years in prison on felony drug trafficking charges—smacked the phone out of the reporter’s hand.

Stunned but still recording, the reporter responded, “Sir, you cannot take my phone out of my hand.”

The phone was eventually recovered, and the camera refocused—just in time to catch Harris hastily walking away and ducking into what appeared to be a bathroom or side room off the hallway.

Undeterred, the reporter redirected his attention back to the congresswoman, attempting once again to get an answer as Pressley was shielded by her entourage of staffers.

“Congresswoman Pressley, do you support President Trump investigating Somali childcare fraud in Minnesota?” the reporter asked as she walked away. “Congresswoman Pressley?”

Pressley never answered.

The timing of the incident was notable. That same day, the Trump administration announced it would freeze $10 billion in federal childcare funding across five Democrat-run states—California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York—following reports of widespread fraud and misuse of funds.

According to Axios, an official from the Office of Management and Budget confirmed the freeze was tied to both fraud concerns and the use of federal funds for undocumented immigrants.

Adding fuel to the fire, Elon Musk, former head of President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), weighed in on the broader fraud issue.

“The fraud in California, New York and Illinois is far greater than in Minnesota,” Musk said this week. “My guess for how much fraud is happening nationwide is roughly 10% of the Federal budget, so about $700 billion per year.”
