House hearing’s finest moment: Dem lawmaker wants to focus on ‘White men’ NOT Somali fraudsters

by

As billions of taxpayer dollars disappear into one of the largest fraud scandals Minnesota has ever seen, Democrats are doing what they do best: deflect, divide, and distract.

During a House Oversight Committee hearing meant to examine rampant fraud tied to Somali-run programs in Minnesota, Rep. Emily Randall (D-WA) veered sharply off course—away from the alleged criminals and straight into a familiar left-wing obsession: blaming white men.

The hearing comes amid political shockwaves in Minnesota, where Gov. Tim Walz has reportedly abandoned his reelection ambitions following mounting scrutiny and an independent journalist’s bombshell video exposing alleged fraud at Somali-operated daycare centers. Federal and state investigations have already led to dozens of indictments, with prosecutors alleging that taxpayer funds meant for vulnerable Americans were systematically looted.

But rather than engage in oversight, Randall used her time to accuse Americans—particularly white men—of being the real problem.

While questioning Republican Minnesota state Rep. Kristin Robbins, Randall suggested the committee should stop focusing on the fraud altogether.

UNHINGED Democrat Rep. Emily Randall thinks we should ignore the Somali fraudsters — who have stolen billions from Americans — and focus on American citizens and “white men.”

Randall doubled down by citing crime statistics and pivoting to January 6 defendants who were pardoned by President Donald J. Trump last year.

“What percentage of sexual assaults in the United States are committed by white men?” Randall asked. “Fifty-seven percent,” also citing data to claim that 33 “J6 insurrectionists” who received pardons had been convicted of separate crimes.

She went on to frame the fraud investigation itself as a dangerous act of “othering.”

“We can trot out all the data that we want to create the sense that there is a bad guy. There is a bad group of people. There are folks that are not among us. There are folks who are other. And I think we should spend a lot more time looking at ourselves,” the Washington State Democrat added.

“Looking at American citizens. Looking at White men who are committing violence at disproportionate rates in our country, who are committing crimes at disproportionate rates in our country, including the President of the United States, who is sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as so many of my colleagues have pointed out,” added Randall in her unhinged rant at the hearing which comes after dozens of indictments of Somali swindlers who scammed taxpayers by pilfering funds intended to feed hungry kids.

Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer brought the focus back to the actual victims of the scandal—American taxpayers and vulnerable families.

“The fraudsters — many of whom are from Minnesota’s Somali community — have stolen from programs meant to feed needy kids, provide services to autistic children, house low-income and disabled Americans, and provide healthcare to vulnerable Medicaid recipients,” Comer said during the hearing.

The reaction online was swift, with many Americans accusing Randall of gaslighting, racial scapegoating, and running cover for fraud. The White House also weighed in, blasting Randall’s remarks and her apparent defense of those accused of stealing from American families.

“Well-known symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome include: unhinged rantings and defending Somali fraudsters who rip off American taxpayers. It sounds like Emily is unfortunately very sick. She should remember she was elected to represent hardworking Americans, not the fraudsters who steal their money.” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said, according to Fox News.

As investigations continue and more indictments pile up, Republicans say Democrats’ strategy is clear: when the money trail leads somewhere uncomfortable, change the subject—and accuse Americans themselves of being the real villains.
