Jesse Watters is new ‘toxic masculinity’ boogeyman: ‘We have to go after MAGA men’

by

As Democrats continue to search for a political identity following their humiliating 2024 election wipeout, some on the Left appear to have settled on a familiar villain: masculinity itself.

Enter Jennifer Welch, a former Bravo reality TV figure turned left-wing podcaster, who is now enjoying newfound relevance by whipping up resentment against conservative men—particularly Fox News star Jesse Watters. In a recent podcast clip circulating widely on X, Welch openly encouraged her followers to “go after” so-called “MAGA men,” singling out Watters as Exhibit A.

Welch’s tirade appears to have been triggered by Watters’ long-running criticism of disgraced former President Joe Biden, whom the Fox host has repeatedly mocked for lacking strength and leadership—qualities traditionally associated with masculinity and, apparently, now forbidden under modern progressive doctrine.

“We have to go after these MAGA men. One example would be Jesse Watters. This man talks incessantly about masculinity,” Welch said in a clip from her podcast that was posted to X, bemoaning the Fox host’s remarks about disgraced former President Joe Biden not being masculine enough.

“He goes on and on and on so much about the idealized man,” Welch continued, tossing out the Democrats’ second favorite F-word. “And that’s a part of fascism, propelling this form of toxic masculinity.”

But Welch didn’t stop there. She went on to launch a bizarre and deeply personal rant aimed at Watters, appearing to project her own obsessions onto the Fox News personality.

“Why are you so obsessed with men, Jesse Watters?” Welch asked, seeming to insinuate something twisted about Watters’ own masculinity. “What’s all that about? Why are you so obsessed with trans people? Why are you thinking about genitals all the time?”

The comments instantly sparked backlash online, where users blasted Welch’s rhetoric as unhinged, hateful, and emblematic of a Left that has fully abandoned sanity in favor of grievance politics.

Welch’s attack comes amid a broader coordinated effort by leftist activists and politicians to demonize Watters, who has become one of Fox News’ most effective communicators with working-class Americans. Earlier this month, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also took aim at the “The Five” co-host, escalating criticism into an outright accusation of sexual harassment.

Despite an invitation from the show’s producer, AOC refused to appear and instead lashed out publicly.

Fox Producer: Jesse Watters would like to invite you on his show

AOC: He has sexualized and harassed me on his show.

FP: That’s not true

AOC: He accused me of wanting to sleep with Stephen Miller. So why don’t you tell me what you think is acceptable to tell a woman.

Taken together, the attacks reveal a strategy that has become all too familiar: label masculinity as “toxic,” redefine disagreement as “harassment,” and smear conservatives as moral deviants. For figures like Welch, this formula has proven lucrative, earning her clout among radical activists, misandrist wine-box feminists, and the ever-shrinking Democrat base.

Welch’s rapid ascent in leftist influencer circles isn’t an accident. In a party that has run out of ideas, hating men—especially strong conservative ones—has become the message.

  1. “Toxic masculinity” has been run into the ground, just like calling everything “racist”. I see appeals to toxic masculinity all the time, and no one complains. A woman can’t lift a heavy object, she asks a guy for help, can’t reach an object on a high shelf, doesn’t want to climb a ladder, the same solution. Most mechanics, roofers, truck drivers, pilots, high steel workers are men. No one complaines about their toxic masculinity.
