Trump signs executive order on mail-in voting and Dems lose their minds: ‘See you in court!’

by

In a move that sent Democrats into a full-blown frenzy, Donald J. Trump put pen to paper Tuesday, signing an executive order aimed squarely at tightening mail-in voting ahead of the midterm showdown.

With the SAVE America Act stuck in neutral thanks to Senate gridlock under John Thune, Trump didn’t wait around. Instead, he took direct action—zeroing in on mail-in ballots, long blasted by conservatives as a weak link ripe for abuse and a lifeline for Democrats trying to claw back Congress.

From the Oval Office, Trump made his mission crystal clear: election integrity.

“This is about voter integrity and mail-in ballots,” he said, adding it’s about “stopping the massive cheating that’s gone on.”

“That’s a big deal,” Trump declared. “I think this will help a lot with elections. We’d like to have voter ID. We’d like to have proof of citizenship, and that’ll be another subject for another time. We’re working on that. You would think it’d be easy.”

The order directs heavy hitters like the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration to compile a national database of verified eligible voters—information that will be shared with states and the U.S. Postal Service. The goal: tighter controls, including barcode tracking on ballots, to ensure they don’t vanish into thin air.

The administration framed it as a constitutional duty, stating: “The Federal Government has an unavoidable duty under Article II of the Constitution of the United States to enforce Federal law… and maintaining public confidence in election outcomes. To enhance election integrity via the United States Mail, additional measures are necessary.”

Cue the outrage.

Within minutes, top Democrats erupted, racing to social media and promising legal warfare.

“See you in court. You will lose,” snapped Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom—already eyeing 2028—echoed the threat: “We’re challenging it. See you in court.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries fumed, “Republicans are complete phonies with their voter suppression scheme.”

And the outrage didn’t stop there.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker blasted the move as unconstitutional: “Voting is a fundamental right for every American… what Donald Trump puts on a piece of paper will not change that.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Elizabeth Warren accused Trump of political desperation: “Instead of reversing course, Trump is trying to rig the next election. It’s illegal—and we will fight back.”

But Trump made it clear he’s not backing down, doubling down on concerns about ballot security.

“The cheating on mail-in voting is legendary. It’s horrible what’s going on,” he said. “I think this will help a lot with elections.”
