‘Surrounded by idiocy!’ CNN panelist erupts in wild on-air rant over Spencer Pratt praise

by

For a movement that insists it’s defending “democracy,” the modern left sure has a hard time handling opinions it doesn’t like.

That reality was on full display during a fiery CNN panel discussion when commentator Leigh McGowan detonated on live television after fellow panelist Lydia Moynihan dared to compliment reality-TV veteran Spencer Pratt for embracing what many voters would simply call common sense.

The exchange started innocently enough. Moynihan argued that Republicans should pay attention to why Pratt’s blunt commentary on Los Angeles dysfunction has been resonating online.

“I think Republicans should be taking copious notes because he’s literally — you just got to embrace common sense and be normal,” Moynihan said.

She pointed to growing frustration over visible drug abuse, homelessness and urban decay in Los Angeles — issues even longtime residents increasingly admit are impossible to ignore.

“And he is calling out the fact that leftists in LA seem to be fine with letting people shoot up in front of schools. They’re fine with dogs getting injected with fentanyl. They’re doing nothing,” she continued.

“And he’s calling out some very obvious things that the vast majority of Americans can agree on. And he’s going viral because of it. People want common sense.”

That was apparently too much for McGowan, who erupted almost instantly.

“Is this common sense for real?” McGowan snapped. “Like as an LA voter, as someone that will vote for mayor in Los Angeles, I’m telling you, this is the opposite of common sense. This is so embarrassing.”

Then came the full-blown on-air meltdown.

“I am so exhausted of being surrounded by this level of idiocy,” she fumed. “This guy is not practical. This man’s plan was to live off his reality fame. When that dwindled, he wanted to be an influencer. When that dwindled, he tried to make his wife a singer. It didn’t work. So now he’s going to be mayor of L.A.”

McGowan continued unloading, mocking Pratt’s promises to tackle corruption, homelessness and renters’ rights.

“He says he’s going to end corruption. How? He says he’s going to have no more homeless, how? He says he’s going to have renters rights. How? I’m so sick of having politicians come in here with zero experience telling us they’re going to fix everything. Have we learned nothing?”
