A Fox News reporter found herself smack in the middle of the left-wing circus outside a Newark immigration detention center Tuesday night — and handled an unhinged anti-ICE heckler with more composure than most cable panels manage in a week.
National correspondent Alexis McAdams was reporting live outside Delaney Hall, the Newark detention facility now serving as ground zero for days of anti-ICE demonstrations, when a protester repeatedly screamed “Nazi b—ch!” inches from the camera during the broadcast.
Instead of folding under the pressure, McAdams calmly turned the ugly outburst into a lesson for viewers watching the chaos unfold in real time.
“You are a protester who’s been out here and you have a dirty mouth,” McAdams told the woman during the live hit, refusing to take the bait as the agitator kept hurling insults.
“Okay, so, that’s just what we deal with,” the reporter added moments later. “So just for people that want to know what it’s like to cover these protests, it’s constant with this, it’s what these people do.”
That didn’t stop the demonstrator from continuing her profanity-laced rant, shouting, “People inside are dying, and you’re lying!” before launching back into the now-recycled “Nazi b—ch” refrain while pointing directly at the camera.
McAdams, meanwhile, stayed laser-focused on the broader issue: the Biden-era immigration mess that continues spilling into communities nationwide. “They want people who are in this country illegally to be released out onto the streets. DHS says that’s what they’re not going to be doing,” she said during the segment.
Back in the studio, Will Cain couldn’t resist taking a jab at the protester’s performance, sarcastically praising the “eloquent argument” being made against McAdams’ reporting.
The unrest outside Delaney Hall has now stretched into nearly a week, with demonstrators gathering daily outside the 1,000-bed facility amid claims of poor living conditions and mistreatment inside the center. According to reporting, detainees have alleged spoiled food, overheated rooms and stalled immigration hearings.
Federal immigration officials have sharply pushed back on those accusations, insisting ICE facilities maintain standards that exceed many American prisons housing US citizens.
The protests have also attracted a predictable parade of Democratic grandstanders eager for camera time. Mikie Sherrill visited the demonstrations over the weekend, while Andy Kim and Democratic Reps. Rob Menendez and Nellie Pou toured the facility.
