Hunter Biden is done being diplomatic.

Appearing Wednesday on The Don Lemon Show, the former first son launched a blistering attack on CNN anchor Jake Tapper, accusing the veteran journalist of dishonest reporting and personal animosity while dismissing Tapper’s bestselling book examining former President Joe Biden’s final years in office.

Asked by Don Lemon whether he had been friends with Tapper, Hunter Biden acknowledged that he has known the CNN anchor for roughly 25 years but quickly made clear there was no love lost between them.

“No,” Hunter replied.

When Lemon asked what he thought of Original Sin—the book Tapper co-authored with Axios reporter Alex Thompson chronicling Joe Biden’s decline and the White House’s efforts to shield it from public view—Hunter didn’t hold back.

“Jake is a complete and utter asshole,” Hunter said. “I think that he is a really poor journalist, and beyond that, I don’t think he’s a very decent human being.”

He continued:

“I think he’s full of f**ing sht. That’s what I think.”

Lemon followed up to make sure there was no misunderstanding.

“You think Jake Tapper’s full of sh*t?”

Hunter doubled down.

“I think he’s the Brick Tamland of his generation.”

The reference was to the clueless television newsman portrayed by Steve Carell in the comedy Anchorman.

Hunter Biden went on to accuse Tapper of repeatedly attacking members of his family over the years.

“The way that he has spoken about me, the way that he has spoken about my mother, the way that he has spoken about my father…”

He added that he felt no obligation to soften his criticism.

“I don’t have to say that. I’m not running for anything.”

The remarks represent the latest chapter in a long-running feud.

Earlier this year, Hunter criticized Tapper on social media after the CNN anchor questioned former First Lady Jill Biden’s public defense of her husband’s cognitive health. That dispute followed the publication of Original Sin, which drew on interviews with dozens of current and former White House officials to argue that President Biden’s decline was concealed from much of the public during his reelection campaign.

CNN stood firmly behind its anchor.

In a statement responding to Hunter’s latest comments, a network spokesperson said:

“Jake Tapper is a respected journalist and his work speaks for itself. For decades, he has challenged and scrutinized those in power, regardless of party, ideology, or title. That’s the job, and he’s done it exceptionally well. These comments are frankly ridiculous and shouldn’t warrant news coverage.”

Neither Tapper nor CNN indicated any plans to respond further.

Debate surrounding Original Sin continues to reverberate through Washington and the media world. Critics have questioned why many of the concerns raised in the book did not receive attention earlier in President Biden’s administration.
