Laura Ingraham concedes AOC is a talented force: ‘long, sleek raven hair and red lipstick’

by

BS BRIEF:

  • Fox News host Laura Ingraham surprised viewers by acknowledging Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s political appeal, calling the New York Democrat “an attractive millennial with a powerful surface appeal” while arguing her policy agenda remains deeply flawed.
  • The comments came as a new University of New Hampshire poll placed AOC atop the prospective 2028 Democratic presidential field with 22%, narrowly ahead of Pete Buttigieg at 21%.
  • Despite growing speculation about 2028, Ocasio-Cortez recently insisted she has not been seriously considering a presidential campaign, even as her national profile continues to rise among progressive Democrats.

LAURA INGRAHAM GIVES AOC RARE PRAISE—THEN ASKS THE QUESTION DEMOCRATS DON’T WANT TO ANSWER

Laura Ingraham isn’t exactly known for handing out compliments to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

That’s why viewers took notice Thursday night when the Fox News host paused her criticism long enough to acknowledge something many Republicans privately concede: AOC has undeniable political talent—and an image that resonates with many younger voters.

During The Ingraham Angle, Ingraham reacted to Ocasio-Cortez’s latest comments denying she’s actively planning a 2028 White House bid.

“I actually kind of believe her. I’m not sure she’s obsessing about it right now.”

Then came the jab.

“Has she weighed anything seriously ever?”

Ingraham followed the remark by revisiting Ocasio-Cortez’s widely discussed 2018 interview in which she admitted she was “not the expert on geopolitics on this issue” when pressed about describing Israel’s actions in Palestine as an “occupation.”

But after criticizing AOC’s policy knowledge, Ingraham offered a surprisingly candid political assessment.

“Well, gotta give her credit. She didn’t know much—still won.”

She continued:

“The fact is, AOC is an attractive millennial with a powerful surface appeal.”

Ingraham argued that Ocasio-Cortez has successfully cultivated two distinct public personas.

“With her long, sleek raven hair and red lipstick, she’s at times played dual roles—kind of the earnest activist, up from her bootstraps, who wants to stick it to the man, and then at times, she’s kind of played the girly-girl who shares her favorite recipe on TikTok.”

The Fox host even admitted she’d welcome the return of AOC’s cooking videos.

“Okay, she should bring that back. I like cooking videos. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

Then came the punchline.

“The question is, what is she cooking up with socialism?”

The comments arrive as Ocasio-Cortez’s national standing inside the Democratic Party continues to climb.

A new University of New Hampshire Granite State Poll found AOC leading the prospective Democratic presidential field in New Hampshire with 22% support, edging former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who received 21%. Pollsters noted that Ocasio-Cortez draws much of her backing from self-described socialists and progressives, while Buttigieg’s coalition is more ideologically diverse.

The poll has intensified speculation about whether the Bronx congresswoman could mount a serious White House campaign in 2028, even though she recently downplayed the idea.

Political observers remain divided over her prospects. Progressive activists increasingly view AOC as the future face of the Democratic Party, while veteran Democratic strategist James Carville recently argued she has virtually “no chance” of winning the party’s nomination because her politics are too far left for the broader Democratic electorate.

Meanwhile, conservative commentators see her rising poll numbers as evidence that the Democratic Party is continuing to drift toward democratic socialism rather than back toward the political center.

She’s no longer simply one of the party’s loudest voices—she’s rapidly becoming one of its most recognizable political brands.

MY TAKE:

Laura Ingraham acknowledged reality.

You don’t have to agree with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—and I certainly don’t—to recognize that she’s an exceptionally gifted political communicator.

Democrats don’t follow her because they accidentally clicked “Follow.” Republicans don’t talk about her because she’s irrelevant.

She has charisma. She’s comfortable on camera. She understands social media better than almost anyone in Congress. And yes, she’s attractive to many. Pretending otherwise doesn’t make conservatives look principled—it makes us look silly.

Now…

The presentation is polished.

The packaging is first-rate.

The product inside? That’s another story.

If AOC ever becomes the face of the Democratic Party, Republicans shouldn’t make the mistake of underestimating her because of a viral video from years ago or because she occasionally says something head-scratching. Beat the ideas. Don’t pretend she isn’t politically talented.

The Left has spent years elevating style over substance, influencers over thinkers, and slogans over solutions. AOC may be the finest example of that formula. She can command a room, dominate a news cycle, and light up TikTok with ease.

But at some point, the camera gets turned off. Then voters have to live with the policies. And that’s where the glamour filter disappears.
