President Donald Trump used his White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech Friday night to unload on Rep. Ilhan Omar, mocking her intelligence, taking aim at her revised financial disclosures and reviving long-running criticisms of the Minnesota Democrat.
Trump called Omar a “low-IQ person” and “very dishonest person” before declaring, “She ought to get the hell out of our country. She shouldn’t be here. She shouldn’t be in our country.”
Omar didn’t wait long to respond.
Posting video of Trump’s remarks on X, she blasted the president as “the idiot who runs our country” and claimed he “doesn’t have the courage or evidence to come after me.”
She doubled down moments later.
“Trump is who needs to get the hell out of our country because he is destroying it and making us the laughing stock of the world,” Omar wrote.
The exchange marks the latest chapter in the long-running war of words between Trump and Omar, whose public feuds have stretched back to Trump’s first term in office.
