Rally takes bizarre turn as ‘Kill Your Local Pedophile’ shirt enters the room, Trump responds with ‘Yo Mama’ joke!

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • A protester wearing a “Kill Your Local Pedophile” shirt interrupted Trump’s packed Myrtle Beach rally Friday night.
  • A second heckler also disrupted the event before security removed the protesters.
  • Trump barely broke stride, joking that the protester’s mother was probably voting for him.

President Trump’s big South Carolina rally for Senate candidate Darline Graham had the usual ingredients Friday night — MAGA hats, chants of “USA,” a packed convention center and Trump working a crowd for more than an hour.

Then came the T-shirt. About 20 minutes into Trump’s speech at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, a male protester stood up wearing a black shirt emblazoned with the message: “KILL YOUR LOCAL PEDOPHILE.”

The man shouted while Trump paused at the podium and watched security move in. The crowd responded with boos and chants of “USA! USA!” as the protester was escorted out.

Trump was discussing the possibility that Democrats would impeach him again if they regain control of Congress when the commotion began. Trump didn’t appear particularly rattled. “That’s all right,” he told the crowd after the disruption. “That person’s going home to mom. Gonna get scolded because mom is voting for us.”

“You know, mom is voting for us,” Trump added.

Reports indicate there was more than one disruption during the evening. A second protester later approached closer to the stage and shouted at Trump before being removed as well.

Trump was in Myrtle Beach campaigning for Graham ahead of Tuesday’s Republican Senate runoff against Rep. Ralph Norman. Graham, appointed to the seat held by her late brother Lindsey Graham, led the first primary round but failed to reach the 50% necessary to secure the nomination outright.

Trump urged Republicans to treat Tuesday almost as if he were running. “What I really want you to do is pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot,” Trump told supporters. “Just come and vote. It’s so important.”

MY QUICK TAKE

I have two observations.

First, whatever you think of the message, that is one heck of a T-shirt to wear when your objective is getting noticed by the national press.

Mission accomplished.

Second, Trump’s reaction may have been the most Trump part of the entire episode.

Most politicians confronted by an angry protester immediately summon their serious face and announce:

“This is what democracy looks like. We respect everyone’s right to—”

Trump? Your mother is voting for me.

There isn’t a political consultant alive who could put that in a briefing book.
