BS BULLETIN:
- Nine men were arrested after Fairfax County detectives posed online as minors and arranged meetings with suspects seeking sexual encounters.
- DHS says three of those arrested are illegal migrants with troubling prior criminal histories — including previous allegations involving minors.
- ICE lodged detainers against all three. All three have since been released on bond.
Nine men busted in an undercover child-exploitation sting. Three are illegal migrants.
All three had ICE detainers lodged against them. And all three are now out on bond.
That’s the latest immigration fight exploding out of Fairfax County, Virginia, where police say undercover detectives posed online as juveniles and communicated with adults allegedly seeking sexual encounters with minors.
Police arrested nine men. The Department of Homeland Security says three of them are illegal migrants from El Salvador: Reyben Leono Sanchez Hernandez, 21; Wilmer Alexander Aguilar Cruz, 28; and Henry Adalberto Flores Herrera, 39.

And their histories make this considerably uglier. According to DHS, Sanchez Hernandez previously had a criminal history that included solicitation of prostitution from a minor. Officials say he illegally entered the United States near the Rio Grande Valley in September 2013 and was released into the country roughly a month later. ICE lodged a detainer against him July 29 following the latest arrest, and Fairfax County police say he has since been released on a $3,000 secured bond.
Then there’s Aguilar Cruz. DHS says Border Patrol caught him illegally entering near Hidalgo, Texas, in 2012 before he was released into the United States about two weeks later.
His criminal history, according to DHS, includes allegations involving computer solicitation of a child, indecent liberties, proposed sex acts, sodomy, extortion and threats to burn. He was also arrested in Virginia in 2019 on charges of threatening to bomb or burn and making a threat in writing. ICE arrested him two days later.
He was eventually released on bond. Now he’s been arrested again in the Fairfax County child-exploitation operation, and ICE lodged another detainer. Fairfax County police say he’s been released again — this time on a $3,000 secured bond.
Finally, there’s Flores Herrera. DHS says his criminal history includes felony solicitation of prostitution from a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor, along with DUI and a traffic offense.
ICE lodged a detainer against him July 17. He has since been released on a $5,000 secured bond. DHS did not say how Flores Herrera originally entered the United States.
The department is furious.
“These criminal illegal aliens were hand-delivered to Fairfax County communities by President Obama,” a DHS spokesperson told Fox News, also accusing the Biden administration of unleashing “millions of unvetted illegal aliens into American communities.”
“Under Governor Spanberger, Virginia has become a hotbed of illegal alien crime,” the department said.

The agency pointed to Spanberger’s moves limiting state cooperation with ICE and terminating state and local 287(g) agreements: “We are urging Governor Spanberger to put her community first and turn over this criminal illegal alien to ICE.”
The charges stemming from this latest sting remain allegations. An arrest is not a conviction. But the question raised by their immigration histories isn’t hypothetical. According to DHS, two of these men were caught illegally entering the United States more than a decade ago. Both were released. All three later accumulated criminal histories that DHS says included allegations involving minors.
Now all three have been swept up in an operation targeting adults allegedly attempting to meet children for sex. And once again, all three are out on bond.

Forget the partisan shouting for a minute and look at the timeline.
Caught entering illegally. Released. Criminal allegations follow. ICE gets involved. Released again. Now arrested in an undercover operation involving people allegedly trying to arrange sex with children.
ICE lodges detainers. And they’re out on bond.
At some point, somebody has to explain exactly what the purpose of an immigration enforcement system is if people can keep cycling through it like this. Because when the alleged targets are children, “we’ll catch him next time” isn’t much of an immigration policy.
