Guns seized from apartment where Ilhan Omar’s son reportedly lives — roommate arrested

by

BS BULLETIN:
  • Minneapolis police reportedly seized guns and ammunition from an apartment shared by Ilhan Omar’s son and his roommate.
  • The roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, was arrested after police reportedly discovered a firearm in his vehicle.
  • Omar’s son has not been accused of wrongdoing — but critics immediately pounced on the gun-control Democrat.

This one comes with a very important disclaimer right up front: Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son has not been charged with anything. He has not been accused of owning the guns. And neither has his mother. But police reportedly finding guns and ammunition inside an apartment where the gun-control Democrat’s son lives?

You knew the internet was going to have a field day.

Minneapolis police executed a search warrant Tuesday night at an apartment reportedly shared by Omar’s 22-year-old son, Adnan Hirsi, and his roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, also 22.

According to reports, the strange chain of events began earlier that day with a traffic stop.

Police reportedly stopped Abdi for driving after cancellation and failing to provide proof of insurance.

He was initially released while officers arranged to impound the vehicle.

Then police reportedly found a firearm inside it.

Abdi was subsequently arrested and booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a weapons-related allegation.

Later that night, police executed a search warrant at the apartment he reportedly shares with Hirsi.

Law-enforcement sources told Alpha News that officers recovered guns and ammunition from the residence.

What we don’t yet know is important.

Police have not publicly disclosed how many guns were recovered, who owned them, where precisely they were found inside the apartment or whether Hirsi was even present during the search.

Fox News independently confirmed Abdi’s arrest and booking, but Minneapolis police declined to provide the outlet with additional information about the apartment search.

Abdi was released from custody Wednesday night.

Again, there is currently no allegation that Hirsi committed a crime.

That didn’t stop Omar’s critics from lighting up social media.

“Not a good look for Ilhan Omar,” Benny Johnson wrote on X.

Steve Ferguson went with the old standby:

“Nothing to see here. Move along.”

Another account, Spitfire, wrote: “This Omar investigation is getting more interesting by the day.”

Former Trump advisers Corey Lewandowski and Sean Spicer also shared the report without comment.

The political irony wasn’t exactly difficult to spot.

Omar has long supported tougher gun-control measures, including universal background checks, restrictions on assault weapons and stronger federal gun laws.

MY QUICK TAKE

I know this story has “social media explosion” written all over it.

But let’s not get ahead of the cops. If Ilhan Omar’s son didn’t own the guns and had nothing to do with whatever his roommate allegedly did, then he didn’t. Period.

But when police execute a search warrant at the apartment where the son of one of Congress’ most outspoken progressive Democrats reportedly lives and walk out with guns and ammunition?

Yeah. People are going to ask questions. The interesting part comes next: Whose guns were they?
