AOC says she won’t date conservatives — Fox host assures her the feeling is mutual

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • Newly single Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she would “probably not” date a conservative because shared political values are important to her.
  • Fox News host Julie Banderas fired back that “no conservative would want to date” the New York Democrat.
  • Jesse Watters ended the segment by declaring AOC “only available to liberals.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has ruled out dating conservatives — and Fox News host Julie Banderas would like her to know the feeling is apparently mutual.

A TMZ reporter approached Ocasio-Cortez outside the Capitol on Tuesday and asked whether she would ever date a conservative.

The newly single New York Democrat burst out laughing before offering an answer.

“I have to say it’s, uh, probably not,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

She added that she meant “no foul” toward people who do date across party lines and argued that political views frequently reflect a person’s deeper values.

“I think a lot of politics sometimes, at least for me, is about values,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And being aligned in values I think is tremendously important.”

The exchange later made its way to “Jesse Watters Primetime,” where Watters introduced the clip by informing viewers that “AOC’s back on the market.”

“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but she dumped her fiancé,” Watters said. “But she’s got standards for her next Prince Charming.”

After watching Ocasio-Cortez reject the possibility of dating a conservative, Banderas delivered a rejection of her own.

“Girl, no conservative would want to date you,” she said. “You are not untapping a mystery here.”

Banderas then referenced Ocasio-Cortez’s recent announcement that she had frozen her eggs.

“She’s eventually going to put them in, and maybe some brave soul will stand up and be the father of those poor little children,” Banderas said. “But, like, why would a conservative ever want to marry her?”

“Well, we didn’t say ‘marry,’” Watters interjected. “Just date.”

Banderas replied that at 36, Ocasio-Cortez would presumably eventually want a husband.

“Only available to liberals,” Watters concluded.

Ocasio-Cortez recently ended her engagement to longtime partner Riley Roberts. The pair had been together for more than a decade and announced their engagement in 2022.

MY QUICK TAKE

At last, Washington has found something both sides can agree on.

AOC doesn’t want to date a conservative, and conservatives apparently aren’t lining up for the assignment. No filibuster, no government shutdown and no emergency ruling from the Supreme Court required.

Julie Banderas didn’t really rebut AOC. She simply confirmed that everyone involved is perfectly happy with the arrangement.

Now, if only Congress could settle the budget that quickly.
