‘Enough of this already!’ Mitch McConnell needs to return immediately or quit, fed up Fox News host says

Fox News contributor Joe Concha has run out of patience waiting for Mitch McConnell to return to Washington.

“If he does not come back in September, he needs to step down,” Concha declared Saturday on “The Big Weekend Show.”

“Enough of this already!”

McConnell has been out of the public eye for nearly three months after suffering a fall in June and subsequently being treated for pneumonia. The Kentucky Republican was eventually discharged from rehabilitation to continue physical therapy at home.

But Concha says pictures and statements from McConnell’s office aren’t enough.

“How many months has it been since we’ve even heard from him directly?” Concha asked. “I don’t want to see proof-of-life photos from a hospital bed anymore.”

His demand was simple: McConnell should appear publicly and demonstrate that he can still do the job.

“And if he can’t, he needs to step aside. Period.”

Rep. James Comer told Fox that McConnell’s staff expects the 84-year-old senator to return when the Senate reconvenes this month. But Comer conceded that he hasn’t personally spoken with McConnell since he was hospitalized.

“I certainly hope to see him in the Senate in the next few weeks,” Comer said.

Concha doesn’t want to wait much longer.

Show up — or step aside.
