BS BULLETIN:
- Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico has a new political thought experiment: What if society operated like a kindergarten classroom?
- “At the end of the day, aren’t we all just really big kindergartners?” Talarico asks in the clip.
- The unusual pitch quickly became fresh ammunition for critics already portraying the Democrat as an unconventional candidate.
James Talarico would like America to consider an important question.
What if we’re all just kindergartners? Really, really big ones.
The Texas Democratic Senate candidate is getting attention for a bizarre clip in which he attempts to extract a broader political philosophy from the way kindergarten classrooms operate.
“What if we ran our world like we run a kindergarten classroom?” Talarico asks.
Then comes the kicker: “Because at the end of the day, aren’t we all just really big kindergartners?”

Well. Somewhere, 340 million Americans just got sent back to the carpet for story time.
There is at least some context for why kindergarten might be on Talarico’s political brain.
The Democrat began his career as a public-school teacher and has made education a central part of his political identity. His campaign says he taught sixth-grade language arts in San Antonio before entering politics. He’s also recently promoted his work on lowering property taxes for childcare facilities, including a visit to a Fort Worth preschool where he touted making childcare more affordable.
But Talarico isn’t running for homeroom parent. He’s running for the United States Senate.
And Republicans have been collecting unusual Talarico clips as the Democrat attempts to turn Texas blue, including his previous comments about God being “non-binary” and his outspoken positions on religion and politics.
Now they have another one. The kindergarten video also arrives at a particularly interesting moment in the Texas race.
Talarico is challenging Republican Ken Paxton in a contest that has become uncomfortable enough for the GOP that Bill O’Reilly just warned Republicans they have a “major problem” in Texas.
Perhaps Talarico has discovered the solution. Everybody grab a juice box. It’s almost nap time.
MY QUICK TAKE
Talarico may have accidentally explained Washington better than anybody intended.
