Trump unloads on ‘stone-cold loser’ Karl Rove as their long-running feud erupts again

President Donald Trump blasted longtime Republican strategist Karl Rove as a “stone cold loser” Monday night.
Trump accused Rove of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and questioned why Fox News and The Wall Street Journal continue giving him a platform.
The latest eruption came after Rove said he would vote for a Democrat in a Texas statewide race rather than support Republican nominee Bo French.

The long-running feud between President Donald Trump and Republican strategist Karl Rove just erupted again.

Trump unloaded on the former George W. Bush adviser Monday night after Rove said he planned to cross party lines in a Texas race and vote for a Democrat.

“Karl Rove is so bad for the Republican Party, and completely wrong so often,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump accused Rove of suffering from “a major case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” arguing that their animosity stems from Trump defeating candidates and policies Rove supported over the past decade.

Then he turned his attention to two of Rove’s prominent media platforms.

“Why does FoxNews and the WSJ keep his RINO Voice alive,” Trump wrote.

“The guy is a stone cold loser!”

The latest round began after The Texas Tribune reported that Rove told attendees at a private Austin luncheon he would vote for Democrat Jon Rosenthal rather than Republican Bo French in the race for the Texas Railroad Commission.

Rove reportedly called French a “bigot.”

The veteran Republican strategist said the only other Democrat he had voted for was former Texas Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock in 1994.

Rove’s decision followed an uproar over a social-media post from French featuring a photograph of predominantly South Asian students celebrating the University of Texas football team’s victory over Ohio State.

French wrote that he had heard a UT graduation looked similar and added, “The problem is now obviously far worse than anyone imagined.”

He later argued that his criticism concerned immigration and university policies rather than race, telling radio host Mark Davis, “I believe we should be prioritizing Americans, not foreigners.”

The post also drew condemnation from several prominent Texas Republicans.

Sen. John Cornyn called it “intolerance and racism,” while Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows said it had “crossed the line” and urged French to delete it. Gov. Greg Abbott said French’s message was “not my message.”

But Trump’s response focused squarely on Rove.

And there is plenty of history there.

Rove, once one of the Republican Party’s most powerful strategists, has repeatedly criticized Trump and his political operation. Trump has responded over the years with attacks on Rove’s record, his Republican credentials and his continuing roles as a Fox News contributor and Wall Street Journal columnist.

Monday’s blowup suggests that relationship hasn’t improved.

Rove says he’s breaking a more than 30-year Republican voting streak because he can’t support one GOP nominee.

Trump’s response?

RINO. Trump Derangement Syndrome. Stone cold loser.

Some feuds apparently don’t require much warming up.
