Rep. Brandon Gill is skipping the Washington euphemisms.
The Texas Republican unloaded on Democrats over immigration, arguing that the party no longer needs to persuade Americans politically because, in his view, its long-term strategy is to change the electorate itself.

Gill accused Democrats of wanting to “import as many new Democrat voters as it takes to replace the current electorate.”
It is a sweeping political accusation — and Gill has been making essentially the same argument while hammering Democrats over immigration enforcement.
Appearing Monday on Fox News’ “The Will Cain Show,” Gill discussed the reaction in Austin after an ICE officer shot and wounded a Venezuelan man during an enforcement operation. Fox described the man as an illegal immigrant.
Gill argued Democrats reflexively take the side of illegal immigrants when immigration enforcement becomes controversial.
“What you see any time there is law enforcement versus the illegal aliens, Democrats will impulsively side with illegal aliens, no matter what the facts are, no matter whether they know the facts or not,” Gill said.
He went further, calling the Democratic Party “fundamentally against law and order, fundamentally against American sovereignty, and against the American people.”
Gill separately pointed to the arrest of Abdoulaye Dia, a rideshare driver from Guinea who authorities say was in the country illegally and who is accused of kidnapping and raping an underage girl in Maryland.
“The left will read this and feel absolutely nothing,” Gill charged.
He characterized Americans victimized by crimes committed by illegal immigrants as “collateral damage” in what he alleged is a Democratic effort to use eventual amnesty to establish a lasting electoral advantage. Those claims represent Gill’s characterization of Democratic motives; Democrats generally argue their immigration policies are based on humanitarian, economic and legal considerations rather than an effort to manufacture voters.
MY QUICK TAKE
There was a time when politicians spent millions of dollars figuring out how to persuade voters.
Gill’s accusation is that Democrats found a cheaper solution: find different voters.
That is one heck of a charge — and Democrats might want to notice that immigration arguments have moved well beyond arguments over the border itself.
