Trump creates Impeachment Readiness Office after admitting he’s ‘getting good at it’

TOTAL BS!

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has directed the White House to establish a permanent Impeachment Readiness Office after telling reporters Friday that, following two previous impeachments, he is “getting good at it.”

The new office will coordinate legal preparation, congressional response and communications strategy in the event House Democrats launch another impeachment inquiry after the midterm elections.

White House deputy counsel Justin Case has been tapped to oversee the operation on an interim basis, according to officials familiar with the planning.

“This is not about anticipating impeachment,” Case said. “It is about recognizing that the federal government should not have to rebuild an impeachment response structure from scratch every time Congress gets excited.”

Trump was impeached by the House in 2019 and again in 2021 and was acquitted by the Senate both times.

Officials said those proceedings produced years of legal research, congressional precedent and communications material that has until now been stored across several White House offices, private law firms and at least one mislabeled box marked “RUSSIA — OLD.”

The new office will consolidate those materials.

It will reportedly include a Legal Response Division, a Congressional Liaison Unit and a Rapid Communications Desk responsible for issuing statements within minutes of any lawmaker using the phrase “high crimes and misdemeanors” on cable television.

A separate Historical Precedent Section will maintain case files on Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. That unit will be headed by veteran congressional attorney William C. Acquittal, whose previous government work reportedly included explaining to younger staffers that, technically, Nixon was never impeached.

One official said the administration is particularly interested in avoiding the confusion that traditionally accompanies the first 24 hours of an impeachment fight.

“Everybody starts calling lawyers, somebody orders pizza, half the building is looking for old transcripts,” Case said. “There should be a binder.”

The office will also establish an Impeachment Situation Room that can be activated whenever three or more House members simultaneously appear on cable news demanding hearings.

Trump has reportedly approved the concept but insisted the operation remain lean.

“No bureaucracy,” the president told aides, according to one official. “Just the people you need.”

The staffing plan calls for 42 employees.

House Democrats have not announced any new impeachment proceedings, although several lawmakers have raised the possibility under various scenarios if their party gains control of the chamber.

White House officials insist the new office should not be interpreted as a prediction.

“It is the same reason FEMA keeps bottled water and the Pentagon keeps contingency plans,” Case said.

“You hope you never need it.”

He paused.

“But this is Washington.”
