BS BULLETIN:
- Newly released NYPD body-camera footage shows officers rushing to save a wounded, handcuffed migrant after an ICE shooting in Manhattan.
- The video captures the frantic trip to the hospital but not the gunfire that wounded him.
- DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin says Oscar Belgal has been transferred out of New York to a secure federal facility.
New York police have released dramatic body-camera footage of the chaotic aftermath of Thursday’s ICE shooting in Manhattan — and it shows officers scrambling to get a wounded suspect to the hospital.
The video begins as NYPD officers arrive in Marble Hill, where 28-year-old Oscar Belgal is sitting on the street, handcuffed and bleeding from a gunshot wound to the neck.
Bystanders are shouting. Federal agents surround the wounded man.
“You got ICE shooting at people?” someone yells.
An NYPD officer quickly realizes the situation is urgent.
“The ambulance is right there!” he shouts.
Rather than wait, officers lift Belgal into an NYPD vehicle and race him to the hospital.
This is the body-worn camera footage from the first NYPD officers on scene in Marble Hill last night. They responded to a 911 call for a male shot and transported the individual who was shot to the hospital to get medical care. https://t.co/aHGXF6UzeH

“Yo, put pressure, put pressure,” one officer repeatedly orders.
A police radio transmission reports that Belgal is still conscious and breathing.
The footage is dramatic, but it does not show the confrontation that prompted the shooting.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said federal agents approached Belgal’s vehicle while wearing plain clothes. When he moved the vehicle forward, an officer fired seven rounds, striking him below the left ear.
A 5-year-old boy was inside the vehicle but was not injured.
Federal officials offered their account Friday. ICE official Marcos Charles said Belgal accelerated toward officers after they attempted to block his vehicle, leading agents to believe their lives were in danger.
DHS has also cited Belgal’s prior grand-larceny conviction and alleged criminal associations. Those allegations are separate from the still-disputed circumstances of the shooting.
Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin confirmed that Belgal has been moved out of New York.
“He isn’t in the state of New York,” Mullin told reporters.
“We wanted to make sure he was in a highly secured facility because of the threat he has and his history of evading police.”
Mullin called Belgal a “thug.”
“My job as a father is to protect my family, and I will die doing that every day.”
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin invokes his own six children as he blasts a migrant suspect identified as Oscar for allegedly endangering a 5-year-old child during a confrontation with ICE officers in the Bronx.
Mullin says the suspect knew the child was inside his vehicle when he accelerated at high speed and rammed two other vehicles, while officers were unaware the child was in the car.
As an ICE-involved shooting in the Bronx draws public backlash, Mullin questions why more outrage isn’t directed at the suspect for allegedly putting the child’s life at risk.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani previously spent hours pressing President Trump and Mullin to release Belgal, without success.
Now the mayor and Gov. Kathy Hochul are demanding the release of the federal agents’ body-camera footage.
Mullin confirmed that the ICE officers had activated body cameras, but did not announce when their recordings would be released.
MY QUICK TAKE
Here’s where the actual video matters more than the political shouting.
The NYPD footage shows officers trying to save a wounded man’s life. It doesn’t establish whether the ICE shooting was justified.
Federal officials say Belgal endangered officers. City officials are questioning the operation. The agents’ own cameras may help settle the argument.
Release the footage, establish the facts, and let the evidence do the talking. That’s a lot more useful than another shouting match between City Hall and Washington.
