Hillary reveals her private joke with Obama that sparked cackling fit — they were hoping Trump was watching

THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS. (I’ve got things to do)

  • Hillary Clinton finally revealed what she whispered to Barack Obama during a viral exchange at the June opening of his presidential center.
  • Clinton said she hoped Trump was watching Michelle Obama mention her husband’s Nobel Peace Prize. According to Hillary, Barack agreed.
  • The revelation came as Trump criticized the Nobel committee for denying him the 2026 Peace Prize.

LAY IT ON ME  (I’ve got time)

Remember that viral moment when Hillary Clinton burst into laughter during Michelle Obama’s speech, then leaned forward to whisper something to Barack Obama?

Well, Hillary has finally revealed what was so funny. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Donald Trump was the punchline.

Speaking Saturday at a Nebraska Democratic Party event in Omaha, Clinton recalled attending the June opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago with her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

She described sitting behind Barack and Michelle Obama as the former first lady delivered a speech celebrating her husband’s accomplishments.

“When Michelle gave that very touching and clever speech about all the things that her husband had done that the other guy hasn’t,” Clinton recalled, “and when she got to, and then, you know, the Nobel Peace Prize, I just burst into laughter.”

Michelle’s reference to Barack Obama’s 2009 Nobel Peace Prize drew applause from the audience. Video showed Hillary laughing, then leaning toward the former president after he turned around.

Now Clinton says she was thinking about Trump, who has repeatedly argued that his diplomatic achievements deserve the same honor.

“I thought it was so perfect,” Clinton said.

She then described the private exchange.

“Barack turns around and he kind of, you know, grins at me,” Clinton recalled.

According to Clinton, she leaned forward and told him: “I really hope that Donald Trump is watching this, and I really hope he heard that line.”

She said she also told Obama that Trump must have felt as though he were in the “10th circle of hell” after hearing the list of his predecessor’s accomplishments.

And Barack’s alleged response?

“Yeah, me too. I hope so.”

That is Clinton’s account of the exchange.

On Friday, the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize went to South African jurist and former United Nations human rights chief Navi Pillay for her work promoting international law.

Trump, who has repeatedly cited his role in international peace negotiations, responded by arguing that the United States deserved the award under his leadership.

“The United States of America, represented by me, as your President, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but didn’t,” he wrote on Truth Social.

He went further, calling the decision “an indelible stain on Norway” and declaring that the prize had been discredited.

The president also repeated his claim that he had settled eight wars and was working to resolve two more, involving Iran and Russia’s war against Ukraine. Those claims remain disputed.

Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, less than nine months into his presidency. The Nobel committee cited his efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation, although the decision generated considerable controversy because of how early it came in his administration.

Clinton’s weekend remarks were part of a discussion about the pressures women face in politics. She also revisited a memorable moment from the 2016 presidential debates when Trump stood behind her onstage.

She said she had considered telling him to “back off, you creep,” but worried about how such a confrontation would be received.

Returning to the subject of political behavior, Clinton said she found it ironic that women had historically been criticized for being too emotional to lead.

“I mean, look at these people, honestly,” she remarked.

As for the whispered joke, the video had already attracted attention months earlier. Clinton’s new account supplies the missing words — and confirms that Trump does indeed rent space in her head for free.
