THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do).
- Scott Jennings responded to criticism of Marsha Blackburn’s AI campaign dance with a parody featuring his CNN colleagues.
- CNN panelists had debated Blackburn’s use of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” including concerns about cultural appropriation.
- Jennings’ video sparked a new round of jokes and reactions on X.
LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time).
Scott Jennings has found a novel solution to CNN panel outrage: If his colleagues are upset about an AI dance video, put them in one.
That’s exactly what the conservative commentator did after a NewsNight discussion about Tennessee Republican Marsha Blackburn’s latest campaign stunt.
Blackburn, who is running for governor, posted an AI-generated video showing her dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”
Even some conservatives found it ridiculous. Republicans Against Trump called the original clip “painfully cringe.” But CNN’s discussion went beyond whether the video was embarrassing, with panelists raising questions about cultural appropriation.
Jennings responded with an AI dance parody featuring members of the NewsNight panel. His caption: “At the risk of sending Ashley over the edge.” That was a reference to panelist Ashley Allison, who had criticized Blackburn’s video.
The reaction was immediate.
Scott Jennings figured out how to make ai seem stupid. https://t.co/OY5IJeTJ8G

One X user joked about Jennings trolling his coworkers with deepfakes. Another suggested the video should become the opening sequence for CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip.
Other commenters simply enjoyed watching Jennings answer a serious television debate with a deliberately unserious video.
Jennings’ parody was equally unmistakable.
And in this case, the punchline landed precisely because he refused to treat an awkward campaign clip as a national emergency.
Sometimes the appropriate response to a silly video is another silly video. CNN now has two examples.
