THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do).

  • Former NASCAR and IndyCar star Danica Patrick is back on the political circuit after flying with Trump to his October 19 campaign rally in Kansas.
  • Patrick posted an enthusiastic Instagram tribute, praising Trump’s humor, intelligence and curiosity, declaring, “There will never be another Donald J. Trump!”
  • With the November 3 midterms approaching, Patrick urged Americans to vote, arguing that Republicans retaining control of Congress would allow Trump’s agenda to continue.

LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time).

Danica Patrick has dusted off her political racing suit, climbed back into the cockpit and decided it’s time to put the pedal down.

But this time, America’s most famous female race car driver isn’t chasing a checkered flag.

She’s talking about Donald Trump.

And after spending time with the president aboard Air Force One and joining him at a campaign rally in Kansas, Patrick has a message for Americans who think they already know the man behind the podium.

“I wish you could all have just 5 minutes with @potus!” she wrote in an enthusiastic Instagram post Tuesday night.

Patrick described Trump as easy to talk to, funny, entertaining and genuinely interested in what other people think.

“He is so easy to talk to and SO fun to listen to!” she wrote, calling him a great storyteller and praising his curiosity about people’s opinions.

And, naturally, she mentioned something close to her own heart.

Sports.

“And of course he is really into sports, which I love!”

Well, that figures. Put a former racing champion in a conversation with Trump, and eventually somebody is going to start discussing horsepower, competition or the size of the crowd.

Patrick didn’t stop with the personal compliments.

“There will never be another Donald J. Trump!” she declared.

She also praised what she sees as his patriotism, leadership and willingness to entertain even while handling the responsibilities of the presidency.

Her Instagram post included photographs from the 2024 campaign, when she became an outspoken Trump supporter.

But Patrick’s latest political appearance wasn’t just a sentimental trip down memory lane.

On Monday, she traveled aboard Air Force One with Trump to Park City, Kansas, outside Wichita, where the president was campaigning for Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 elections.

Trump made sure the crowd knew she was there.

Introducing Patrick during his speech, the president described her as one of racing’s great competitors and praised her courage in a sport historically dominated by men.

He called her “beautiful and unbelievably brave” before telling the crowd that other drivers had praised her skill and competitiveness.

“We have NASCAR driver, and really star, Danica Patrick,” Trump announced.

And there she was, the woman who once spent her weekends going more than 200 miles an hour, back in the political grandstands.

Patrick, now 44, became the first woman to win an IndyCar Series race with her victory at Japan’s Twin Ring Motegi in 2008. She later competed in NASCAR, where she became one of the sport’s most recognizable personalities.

Her entry into presidential politics attracted plenty of attention during the 2024 election, particularly because she hadn’t previously been known as a partisan political activist.

Patrick supported Trump’s campaign and appeared at rallies, becoming one of several prominent sports figures who openly embraced his candidacy.

Now she’s back for another lap.

In her latest message, Patrick argued that winning the White House in 2024 wasn’t the finish line for the political movement she supports.

“Our job was done with the election 2 years ago,” she wrote, before emphasizing that major political changes require continued participation.

Her central argument was straightforward: She believes Trump’s administration needs Republican majorities in Congress to pursue its priorities through the remainder of his term.

Patrick urged followers to participate in the approaching elections, writing that maintaining Republican control of the House and Senate would preserve what she described as the country’s patriotic momentum.

And she certainly isn’t the only sports celebrity getting involved.

Trump’s campaign schedule has featured appearances from figures including Mike Tyson, Roger Clemens, Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul, bringing familiar faces from sports and entertainment into the final stretch of the midterm campaign.

Patrick’s appearance in Kansas came as Republicans and Democrats were pouring resources into races across the country, with control of Congress hanging on the November results.

The president has been traveling extensively, appearing at rallies and urging supporters to turn out for Republican candidates.

Patrick’s contribution is a little different from the usual political speech.

She isn’t delivering a complicated economic proposal or presenting a detailed legislative agenda.

She’s telling followers about her personal impressions of Trump, based on conversations and time spent around him.

For someone accustomed to a sport where drivers can spend hours answering the same questions about tire wear and track conditions, the former racing star seems genuinely impressed by the president’s conversational stamina.

And there’s something rather amusing about a woman who made her living driving at terrifying speeds telling Americans that political change takes time.

But that’s Patrick’s message.

She believes the political race that began in 2024 still has plenty of laps remaining.

And while voters across the country will have their own opinions about Trump and the direction of the country, Danica Patrick has made hers unmistakably clear.

She’s back in the race.

And this time, there’s no pit crew telling her to slow down.
