Born yesterday, looks 45! Mustachioed newborn has the internet howling

  • X users responded with jokes about the baby’s mortgage, work history, beer preferences and apparent ownership of a pickup truck.
  • The video hasn’t been authenticated, with suspicions that artificial intelligence gave the little fellow his remarkably mature facial hair.

Most babies enter the world looking for their first meal.

This one looks like he’s looking for his W-2.

A video circulating on X shows what appears to be a newborn baby with a full, dark mustache, and the internet has responded exactly as you might expect when a child arrives looking like he’s already been through two divorces and a refinancing.

The clip, shared by Ecuador Al Día 365, features a tiny infant lying on a hospital bed, sporting facial hair that would make Tom Selleck sit up and take notice.

No sooner had the little gentleman appeared online than social media users began assigning him an entire adult biography.

“Worked with him on an oil rig back in 94, great bloke,” joked X user Michael Dunworth.

Another commenter, Warren Wilhelm, had a different take on the child’s lifestyle.

“This baby drives a minivan and spends $300 a week at Costco,” he wrote.

And someone else suggested the newborn might already be dealing with the financial headaches of adulthood.

At this rate, somebody should probably check whether the delivery room offered a senior discount. But the jokes didn’t stop at the baby’s financial obligations.

And apparently, the little guy has developed a taste for refreshments considerably stronger than formula.

“Bro came out the womb looking for a cerveza,” wrote Cowboys Copium.

Another user suggested the infant would prefer a bottle of Modelo over breast milk.

The resemblance to famous mustachioed characters wasn’t lost on the crowd, either. Some immediately compared the baby’s appearance to Gomez Addams and his mustachioed infant son, Pubert, from Addams Family Values.

Others saw shades of Tony Montana from Scarface, while one commenter responded with a Mario reference.

And then there’s the question nobody has quite answered: Is this little fellow even real?

Several reports examining the circulating video have raised concerns that artificial intelligence may have helped produce the unusually precise facial hair. The original location of the purported birth hasn’t been established, and no hospital or family has independently confirmed the story.

Community Notes on the X post suggested the video appeared to be modified with AI.

There is an actual medical explanation for some newborns having visible facial and body hair. It’s called lanugo, a fine, soft hair that develops before birth and generally disappears naturally. But lanugo isn’t usually the kind of facial furniture that makes a baby look ready to discuss property taxes over a cold beer.

So while the jury remains out on the authenticity of the video, the internet has already decided this infant has a steady job, a mortgage, a landscaping business and probably a favorite recliner.

Somewhere out there, a 2009 Ford Ranger is reportedly waiting for its owner to finish his bottle.
